I was told that in some churches in Nigeria, fertality test is an obligation before couples could agree to marry. This is done for surity reasons.

Source: from my friend younger brother who did this test with his wife. I think the faith of the church today is weak.
We were told in the bible that very few persons were known with baren issues. And they all had kid/kids. And These persons cases happens to be particuliar. Sarah wife of Abraham, Rebecca wife of Isaac and Rachel wife of Jacob. God promised all three that they would be fathers of many nations and that they would be a blessing to ALL nations. It was a test of faith for them. A prove of trust for God as well. God also bless Elizabeth in the New Testament she was barren, but later gave birth to John the Baptist. So why the fear of barreness in todays church? Where is the faith of the church? Is this biblical? I would like to hear your views please, i want to be more enlighten on this. God bless u.

I think if we can get the bible verses from where these churches get their view from, then we can look at the issue. However, in my view and understanding, i don't think it is right neither is it biblical.

Faith isn't synonymous with Foolishness personally l don't think anyone would ague that it is wrong carryout those tests perhaps what we should be more interested in is what happens with the results of such tests.
The question of faith is personal if the test didn't come out positive then it is left to the individuals themselves to decide based on the premise of their convictions on what the provisions of the word of God says.

I think most of the things some churches does are not Biblical, this is not either.

This one is more like an abrupt discrimination cos it bans abduction and renders women childless.

Sir, this is not mas.tuBation thread, why u dey divert? We should pick offence when faced with the truth. If we claim to be parts of Christ, then we must discuss matters that are not clear enough. No offence sir.

Is it the test that is wrong or the act of it? Didnt u read that the yet to marry couple do this test before? What happens if the result is negetive? Then brother/sister will find his/her way and look for another, so where is the Christian life in such people?
No different from unbelievers eh!

@JudeK2, u are getting it all right. So much strange practice in the church today. I still dont see why one should seek such test before marriage. There is nothing wrong for an infertility Christian couple to seek good advice from gynecologists or other fertility specialists, If they find out they ve infertility problems. What i see strange in this is that, Both man and woman have not even lived a healthy lifestyle together as married couple, try to prepare for pregnancy before they carry out the test. Where does the Church get these doctrines from? Am sure The bible Figures i previewsly mentioned, only discovered they were barren after a long marriage life with their spouse. And when they were sure they were barrened, They prayed fervently for conception, and they concieved. So i think today's christian couples indulged in this act should Put God first. If during marriage, infertility became a case, then continuing to pray for a child is certainly the the first option. Primarily, one ought to pray for God's will for thier lives. Its God's will that decides for us. We know that God has a divine plan for each of His loved children. God is the author of life. He allows conception and withholds conception. Doing the test before and having a positive result, and along, conception can still be withheld if God decides. He is sovereign and possesses all wisdom and knowledge. (James 1:17) “Every good and perfect gift is from above, ”. If we Know and accept these truths we will go a long way.
