Abia PDP chieftain slams APGA
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State, Mr. Chukwudi Apugo, has condemned remarks credited to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), which alleged that Governor Theodore Orji has abandoned road projects in Aba.
Speaking with reporters in Umuahia, the state capital, Apugo accused APGA of inciting Aba residents against Orji.
He said the APGA leadership has “a myopic view of Orji’s developmental efforts in Aba and the entire state.”

Apugo said: “Orji won the election in 2007 and was reelected in 2011. If APGA thinks he is not performing, it should wait till 2015 when another governor will take over and judge him thereafter.”
He said Orji has endeared himself to Abians through his “numerous achievements”, particularly in Aba, which he said has always taken the largest share of the state’s budget.

Apugo named some of the government’s projects in Aba as: the ongoing rehabilitation of the Ukwu-Mango Road, the reconstruction of the Aba/Owerri Road, the building of a pedestrian bridge at Abia Polytechnic junction on the Aba/Owerri Road and the distilling of Aba Main Water Channel, among others.
