Al-Qaeda creates terrorists’ base in Nigeria
Written by Our Reporter Monday, 12 March 2012

THE terrorism challenges facing Nigeria may have been complicated by credible reports indicating that Al-Qaeda in the Maghreb has established an operational base in the North-Western part of the country to source for funding through high-profile hostage business.

This is coming at a time the United States Department is said to be considering adding the Boko Haram sect to the official list of terrorist organisations in the world.

Reliable intelligence sources disclosed that the old Sokoto axis is now home to a very violent arm of Al-Qaeda in the Maghreb, which, during the last week, claimed responsibility for the bombing of the headquarters of the Algerian-led joint military command fighting the group in the Sahel region.

Contrary to reports that it was Boko Haram that kidnapped the hostages, Nigerian Tribune learnt that Maghreb group had shifted attention to Nigeria to expand its hostage taking operations, which was said to account for large part of Al-Qaeda operational fund worldwide.

According to the source, more foreigners may be targeted in the North with possibility of extension into some southern zones, because of the belief that Nigeria is a centre for big foreign construction and oil operations.

It was learnt that while Boko Haram continues its field operations across the North, the Maghreb group would focus on hostage taking to fund terrorist activities of both groups within and outside Nigeria.

Reports had indicated that between 2010 and 2011, the Maghreb Al-Qaeda raked in close to fifty million dollar in ransom payments from kidnapped Europeans, part of which were reportedly contributed to the worldwide jihadist movement.

The presence of the group in Nigeria, credible security sources noted, was not just to support Boko Haram but to expand the source of revenue for the worldwide jihadist movement, which had suffered some funding setbacks from Western Europe and Middle East.

LOL, you should direct your criticisms towards the commander-in-chief of the armed forces, the President of Nigeria. Why did he fail so woefully in his duty to protect Nigerian citizens and defend the country in the event of wars and such attacks? Is core-North the commander in chief of the armed forces? Under GEJ's watch Al Quaeda creates a base in Nigeria. If the reporter and you know about this base, so does GEJ and his operatives. Why can't they go and destroy the base, collateral damage and all? Nigerians will support such a move.

I am beginning to suspect that El Rufai has a point after all.

^^^What sort of game plan do these people have for Nigeria though?

There is a lot of chaos and little direction at the moment. Do they want to establish a permanent base or cause outright civil war? Or both?

What do they stand to gain by political discord that they haven't from relative stability?

Featured here is Cecil Rhodes who helped the British Empire literally conquer a massive swath of Africa from the north all the way to the south, the portion over which Rhodes is spanning in the illustration. In memory of his megalomania, the British would name what is now modern day Zimbabwe after him, calling it “Rhodesia.”

Today, US Africa Command, known as AFRICOM, is spreading across Africa in the footsteps of Cecil Rhodes. As reported by allAfrica.com, Vice Admiral Moeller at an AFRICOM meeting held at Fort McNair on February 18, 2008 would declare that protecting “the free flow of natural resources from Africa to the global market” was one of AFRICOM’s guiding principles. Of course by “global market,” the admiral means the Fortune 500 corporations of Wall Street and London.

In our politically sensitive modern age, pillaging Africa in the footsteps of shameless and quite racist imperialists is very difficult to do. Therefore, Joseph Kony, Al Qaeda, Qaddafi, starving children, pirates, and every other geopolitical ploy and contrivance imaginable, and some left yet unimagined have been used to justify AFRICOM’s expanding presence on a continent they have no business setting foot on.

Ironically, ploys like KONY 2012 have liberal youth clamoring for what is perhaps the next dark chapter in large scale racist imperial enslavement, plundering, and exploitation.

For excellent analysis on the KONY 2012 scam, please read Nile Bowie’s “Youth Movement Promotes US Military Presence in Central Africa,” and BlackStarNews.com’s “KONY 2012, Invisible Children’s Pro-AFRICOM and Museveni Propaganda.”

It is not surprising that you would blame GEJ for that, afterall, Sanusi and your governors have blamed boko haram on the revenue allocation formula.

That some leaders who happen to be from a particular part of the country didnt pay attention to the plight of ALL Nigerians doesn't mean our current leader should do the same. If he truely is a national figure then he must be seen to be fair to all. until we have national leaders sectionalism will not stop.If I will get good leadership whether its my kinsman is at the helm or not then all these killings and power struggle will be reduced. If it is all about service to the nation and not looting or favouring one section of the country why then should people threathen fire and brimestone if their son is not made the president? What do they have to gain by him being there?

Gideon Orkar was a Major in the Nigerian Army. He, along with others such as Major (Dr) Slaiba Mukoro (Phd), ltcol Tony Nyiam etc, staged a coup on April 22nd 1990. His plans included removing the core northern states from Nigeria unless and until they complied with certain demands.

who is Gideon Orkar?

Gideon Orkar said this shortly after dawn broke on April 22, 1990,;
"Fellow Nigerian Citizens, On behalf of the patriotic and well-meaning peoples of the Middle Belt and the southern parts of this country, I , Major Gideon Orkar, wish to happily inform you of the successful ousting of the dictatorial, corrupt, drug baronish, evil man, deceitful, homo-sexually-centered, prodigalistic, unpatriotic administration of General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida. We have equally commenced their trials for unabated corruption, mismanagement of national economy, the murders of Dele Giwa, Major-General Mamman Vatsa, with other officers as there was no attempted coup but mere intentions that were yet to materialise and other human rights violations

He also said this

In the light of all the above and in recognition of the negativeness of the aforementioned aristocratic factor, the overall progress of the Nigerian state a temporary decision to excise the following states namely, Sokoto, Borno, Katsina, Kano and Bauchi states from the Federal Republic of Nigeria comes into effect immediately until the following conditions are met. The conditions to be met to necessitate the re-absorption.

greateros: How the cookie is crumbling so fast!

Its so sad that Nigerians brought this situation on themselves. For 12 years PDP has ruled this country with absolutely nothing to show for it and yet when we had the opportunity to right things, we as Nigerians with all our pains and sufferings still choose to vote on religions and ethnic sentiments rather than vote on merit and performance and uprightness!

We voted Mr. Goodluck Jonathan despite all indications that he is a non performer! now Nigeria is paying the price for being fooled again and again and again! I cant even begin to imagine how Horrible the situation will be in 3 years time! I still don't blame Mr. Jonathan cause he did not force anybody to vote for him.

Your GEJ has been in power for close to two years and in his tenure gun attacks on innocent citizens, bomblast and suicide missions is the order of the day now alqaida has set up base in Nigeria due to his incompetence and yet you still have the audacity to keep spewing rubbish!
You truly deserve the firing squad!

The attacks on GEJ have been by bitter losers like you.
You are so bitter about losing that if your woman were to get pregnant before time, you would blame it on GEJ. Its sad to be that bitter, bro.
It is the same bitterness and hatred that have made you fellows think that bombing innocent souls and spilling blood would destabilise GEJ's government.

If all you do is wake everyday with bitterness, hatred and al qaeda in your heart, why not hang yourself?

Re: Al-Qaeda Base Established In Nigeria (Sokoto Axis) by thoth: 1:11pm On Mar 12, 2012
Nigeria's misery has not started yet, i warned them long ago the steps that would lead to actual military domination of the country, some foolish people who does not understand international politics and imperialism are already rejoicing and thinking they would come and descend on the north, they are not coming for the North, they are coming for the whole of Nigeria and Niger Delta at heart, the North is only the pasty or clearer stated the reason they would use to drum in, when they do and start unleashing their terror no voice will be heard anymore, any Muslim that says against the atrocity of the Alien imperialist forces would be a condemned Al qeda criminal, any christian that does same would either disappear, a gun runner, oil bunker-er/terrorist of Niger Delta Origin or ultimately a secessionist.
They would flare it more and more and the torched has passed from Terrorist/Boko haram stage to Terrorist/Al qeda phase now making it an international issue, foreigners would be kidnapped and killed and al qeda would mysteriously confirm it leading in nations of the deceased and further validating Nigeria as a terrorist infested, corruption instituted and a weak state that needs foreign assistance and ultimately it would set in.

Since foreign forces could not be lodged on persuasion and many officials see it against their interests we can only expect the stance to get more serious, according to Goyles analysis a replication of 9/11 is possible by which Nigeria would be validated as a World Threat and the governments of the imperialist nation reason for swift action bypassing all due legal procedures. if that happens the Nigerian Government has no choice but to take side with the imperialists for self preservation.
ARIS-NI Dept Report#100211 Date: Feb,04,2012.

Considering the above mentioned obstacles and the inefficiency of the reactionary elites in the Nigerian goverment to fully execute the imperialist agenda, a shift of stance which would bring Nigeria closer to Al qeda is to be expected, either by capturing Nigerians in Afghanistan or else where in the middle east and having him declare he is al qeda or making reports based on shady intelligence the presence of a top al qeda official in Nigeria, whatever way they choose it is not more to be doubted that Bush's War on Terror would be taken to Nigeria.Idika also asserts that

Look, GEJ might be the scapegoat now but when the cookie crumbles guess who will deal with Al qeada? you guessed it - Core north! I suggest the leaders and opinion makers in the north swing to action now before its too late. Lets not kid ourselves, fact is - there is no reason to kill. If we all start killing because of one excuse or the other by the time we're done we would have smoked the entire humanity. GEJ's good or bad leadership does not warrant all these senseless acts so whoever is blaming him for either causing it or not being proactive enough to nip it in the bud is being disingenous.

Nigeria is a developing country and if anyone is expecting a CSI or SCI-FI high tech crime/terror busting security outfit then you're in a different planet. Let the owners of these terrorists talk some sense into them, expecting GEJ to deliver that is just bull.

Its a friend that will you the home truth, an enemy will not. Those acting to be core north's friends by blaming GEJ are probably laughing behind north's back. The truth is - this problem originated in the north and it will be killed by the north just as East killed kidnaping. By shaping opinion in a homogenous society, a once triving blemish can be reduced drastically - Let core north get to work now!

thoth: @Beaf.. i will let you decide, you already know which side you are on.

No matter what sickening World domination stories for cretins that you bring up, the sane amongst us can see the almajiri's and conclude whose lead they follow. Was it George Bush that decided not to educate the North and manufacture 10 million almajiri's? It took decades for them to hit the 10million mark (from the almajiri census in 2006). There is nothing worse than a wimp who goes around blaming his evil errors on others.

Almajiri's have killed thousands over cartoons by foreigners from far away Europe, beauty contests in Abuja, sharia etc. It is no surprise that such a crazed mob would attract al qaeda. Thankfully, oil does not flow in the core-North and their leaders (like a brooding cloud of locusts) have also seen to it that nothing productive exists, only dust is left; otherwise Nigeria would have been prostrate.

My friend, we can see the almajiri rioters holding your "CIA" ARIS-NI Dept Report#10021 (only it looks a lot like a photo):
