Project Accountant

1. SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for timely, accurate and reliable financial accounting information and management reporting suitable to the need of running the company business and ensuring that established accounting systems and procedures are adhered to and recommend controls necessary to safeguard the company’s assets and income.

2. MAIN FUNCTIONS

 Ensuring timely and accurate rendering of Financial and Statutory returns of the company as well as the monthly management reports with much emphasis on project profitability reporting.

 Ensuring proper and adequate project budget by liaising with the business development units of the company in budget preparation and investigate and submit variance accordingly

 To maintain proper records of company offices assets, liabilities and the security of the assets for statutory and management information purpose

 Effective and efficient Project Reporting for management decision making by ensuring proper accurate and proper disbursement procedure and monitoring and recording of all receivables

 Ensuring a mutually beneficial relationship with joint partner through proper account recording and prompt reconciliation when necessary.

 Ensuring proper reconciliation of current account with other companies within the group

 Ensuring adequate attention is given on the tax implication of project related transactions

 Ensuring that all receivables are properly recorded and accounted for as well as proper follow up to ensure prompt payment.

 On an on-going basis, identify areas of cost savings by conducting process assessment and recommending possible improvements.

 Preparing monthly Bank Reconciliation and follow up on any unusual and overdue items to prevent fraud and report observation appropriately to the head office.


 To attend to internal and external Audit request/enquiries and ensure Audit report recommendations are followed up and implemented according to company’s procedures.

 Ensuring seamless working relationship with other companies within the groups in terms of dissemination of information and reporting.

 Carry out other duties delegated by the Head, Account & Finance and the Managing Director


3. QUALIFICATION REQUIRED FOR THE JOB

Chartered Accountant with BSC / HND Accounting, Finance or other related discipline, plus at least 5 years cognate experience.

Candidate must be conversant with Accounting Standards and the company accounting policies and procedures, as well as legal and regulatory practices. Knowledge of business process design, database management system as well as financial management is very essential.
