Dear All, I noticed the existing thread about travelling to Canada seem to focus more on getting the Study permit. While being optimistic that we will all succeed with our applications, I feel there is a strong need to put in mind the next step which is settling down in Canada. The basic stuffs would be housing/accommodation, transportation, jobs, making friends, food e.t.c. Is it good to go for campus accommodation, homestay, or renting off campus accomodation? What happens at the airport where you are expected to get your TRV (Temporary residence visa)? Withdrawing from programs? Changing schools/courses? Extending your stay? I believe nairalanders who are now resident in Canada can assist us with this. Thanks for your input!

Please note that "travelling to canada" thread is somewhat of a prerequisite to this thread for those who are yet to make applications for their study permit. However, this thread becomes a must-visit once your application stage is done with. I am sure it's helpful to have an idea of what we are going into now that it's becoming REAL! .Wishing us success!
