A RECENT geological survey has shown the possibility of the availability of oil and gas in seven northern states. The states, where the study was conducted in its initial phase, are Plateau, Kogi, Benue, Nasarawa, Taraba, Bauchi and Gombe.
The Department of Geology of the University of Jos (UNIJOS) conducted the research with support from the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF). It shows that all the potential elements, which point to the presence of the product, are present in the states especially in Plateau.
