Following the public uproar that trailed the release of the adhoc Committee on Fuel Subsidy Investigation’s report, the Federal Government has begun to increase security in strategic areas where the Occupy Nigeria protests were quick to mushroom last January. Police patrols and sentinels were dispatched to the Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Park in Lagos overnight, according to residents in the area. The Federal Government is believed to be jittery concerning warnings from Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) indicating the protests may be much more severe than those which occurred in January if the Executive fails to prosecute those found culpable in the report. The Save Nigeria Group (SNG) led by Tunde Bakare recently issued a notice to government on impending protests. Spokesman for SNG, Yinka Odumakin said of the report, “It is an open book on the rape of a nation by mindless people. Is it not ironic that pastor tunde bakare is organising a protest and Buhari is calling for revolution at the same Time in one week! It makes one wonder what their motives are!! WHY WHY WHY, why police and soldiers in Gani park? does it mean that Nigerians don't have a right of association and right to protest bad governance, and demand for justice and equity? Please GEJ should wake up and understand that protest is on best way to ask for good governance, after all if things were going in the right direction, there would not be any need for protest in the first place. Those indicted in the fuel subsidy probe should be drinking tea in EFCC office by now. |

When the KPMG report was released sometime last year indicting a lot of agencies especially showing the rot in NNPC, what did the retardeen do? How can protests distabilise his govt? Its our rights to protest even for the "silliest" reason and neither the retardeen nor the PDP can stop that. |
