Well I've heard that some of these screens almost turn out to be the price of buying a brand new phone again!!

In contrary to your position about costing, the wildfire digitizer are not as expensive as the digitizer of the Samsung S series, they sell for about £130.00, while the wildfires sell for about £30.00.
