A day after the attack that claimed 19 lives at the Old Campus of Bayero University Kano, a time bomb was detected at the New Campus of the institutions located some kilometers away.

Security source informed Daily Trust that the bomb had only 25 minutes to explode when it was discovered and disarmed by security operatives.
The bomb was placed at the first floor of a building housing the institution’s sociology department.

Our correspondent, who was at the institution earlier in the day, observed men of the Joint Security Taskforce patrolling the New Campus. Security was high at the entrance of the university.

When contacted, JTF spokesman Lieutenant Ikedichi Iweha, said the outfit was not informed of the time bomb, referring our correspondent to the school’s public relations officer.

The spokesman, however, confirmed that time bombs were detected at the scene of Sunday’s attack by security agencies, saying they been detonated.

We go just manage the good news like that. I hope they will keep finding and detonating to the end of the whole episode in June.
