I am learning video editing and i am using sony vegas pro 11 but i noticed

that anytime i render a video the file size is always big

for example i did a video of about 9 mins and the size was 433MB in .mp4 format

while 343MB on .wma format.

I am even scared of rendering it in FLV cos that will be x2 so please can anybody tell me the

trick behind getting a good quality video with a low file size just like the way this

music videos are.

Please your help will be appreciated.

With sony vegas .WMV is really your best option for decent quality and size. If you are rendering for use primarily online, i recommend using the .WMV template "4.8mbps HD 720-24p" . Avoid 1080p to be posted online, as it would only amount to a large file with no discernible difference online. If it does not have to be in HD, you can try one of the lower resolution .WMV templates. Sony vegas is a good editing software. I made a few basic editing tutorials on this page. you are in luck, my renders are normally around 3Gig lol, what I do is use secondary rendering softwares that are meant for light weight HD conversion.
