The strike embarked upon by doctors in the service of lagos state government has no doubt, negatively impacted in the delivery of health services in the state and has brought untold hardship on the people. Patients admitted are being discharge from the hospitals, some are referred to private hospital. Leaving the hospital almost empty. It was discovered that the doctors have not been coming to the hospitals to attend to their patients thereby leaving the patients in the care nurses and matrons. These doctors now refer some of their patiens to their private hospitals or friend hospitals for treatment

Technically the strike is over, as we speak Lagos State is in the process of sacking the striking doctors. So the public should wait for the new doctors that are going to be employed or the foreign doctors that will come for health camps, or pay for private hospitals.

Naija na wa. Hospitals, doctors, nurses are one sector of the govt that should never be allowed to strike. I can only imagine the unold hardship the people are going through and the lives that are being lost. This is too sad.
