Both are useless but i'll pick the English films anyday. The Yoruba producers have to do something about their cameras and subtitles. It sucks.

Nobody remembers those oscar winners though from Egypt(which is not a black african country) and south africa which is controlled by white south africans; wasn't the movie from south africa made from a white south african. You are right budget, quality and etc is a problem for Nollywood however being slowly being combated and Bollywood had the same beginning as well and progressed, but the ones being known when it comes to Africa are not the winners of Oscars from the Arab country of Egypt(which doesn't count) or south africa. Apparently Nollywood has something to show for since they have been interviewed by the New york times and CNN multiple times, including documentaries. So it depends on the way you look at it. The bitter truth is the Oscars will never put Africa out there for Black africans or Africans on the map, they may acknowledge a movie from a person from a arab nation in Africa or south africa(that represents themselves not Africa) but they don't represent Sub-Saharan Africa like Nollywood does. The Oscars is not the savor for Black africans and will never be, it helps to win a oscar though but doesn't represent a demographic.

Now I know u r a nut case...what did they call it yoruba films ..not english..weda they can speak english or not..doesn't matter as long as it is yoruba language..the arab movies dat won oscars award are not acted in english but in arab language..so ur point is useless and senseless.
Dats why we black will never be on top cos we don't appreciate our dialect, our own...is english your mother tongue..our language is dieing and yoruba film is helping in this area..go to uk,usa..many nigeria kids there .use it to learn our cuture and language..cos they speak our language which the english film can't do.

Some Yoruba actors can construct a good sentence in english but who cares. It's Yoruba movies for Yoruba audience and nobody wants to know if they can speak any other language. But i still beleive Yoruba movies have a long way to go.

Nollywood is now crap, often showcasing ignorance as the order of the day. They've simply ran out of ideas, always focusing on kingship movies. Lead roles are now played by a prince or princess. No more reality in the movies. Just tired of same storyline with different titles. Most of these movies are always concluded in another movie with different title.

Even in the rooms, you'd see these bunch still adorned in their full royal regalia. When last have you seen a princess or prince being escorted on the street with vikings as the bodyguards.

It is called Nollywood (Nigerian Movies) and not Igbowood. Perhaps they should also act movies based on different culture and not just the igbo culture.

I would say yoruba because they are creative with their storylines and titles but on the other hand thinking of the movie "Jenifa" makes me lean towards the English but the thoughts "Blackberry babes" well f*ck them both
