Re: Chess Puzzles (1,2) by Ralex(m): 7:12am On Apr 02, 2006
What exactly is the king doing in that position. Looks like an amature game.

Well grizzl has a mating order. seems to be the longest as white is lost in evry vairation except black is down right mad or stupid
1. Ne4 is the correct first move as any other thing would allow white escape from this foolish position as all he needs to survive is to activate his queen bishop

1. , Ne4 2. Kh4 Qg4++ mates instantly in two moves
1. , Ne4 2. Kf2 Nd3+ 3. Kf1 Re++
1. , Ne4 2.Kh3 Qg4+ 3. Kh2 Qh4++
1. , Ne4 2. Kh2 Qh5+ 3. Kg3 Qg4+ 4. Kf2 Nd3+ 5. Kf1 Re1++

well the correct move order is

1. , Ne4 2. Resign!!! the smartest move as he is lost
Re: Chess Puzzles (1,2) by kinglarry(m): 8:51pm On Apr 02, 2006
Ralex, can you tell me how the black Night can get to "e4 from g4"? if you cant thats mean your move is fake and you should know by yourself that you miss it.
Re: Chess Puzzles (1,2) by kinglarry(m): 8:53pm On Apr 02, 2006

Re: Chess Puzzles (1,2) by nuggard(m): 4:12pm On Apr 04, 2006
Here's One.
Arrange 8 queens on a board so that none takes out the other in one move.
You can use the board labels eg a1, h8.
I learnt a scientist (Teller) did it in 20 mins without paper! shocked
Re: Chess Puzzles (1,2) by kinglarry(m): 4:32pm On Apr 04, 2006
The answer is:
Each Queen will stand on: a6, b1, c5, d2, e8, f3, g7, h4
Re: Chess Puzzles (1,2) by nuggard(m): 11:04am On Apr 05, 2006
Smart Brother! It took me from JS3 to SS3 to figure it out. How did you do it.?

Ps there is a second and possibly a third solution. very easy.

Re: Chess Puzzles (1,2) by kinglarry(m): 9:08pm On Apr 05, 2006
Dear Freinds,
here another one:

White to mate in 3 moves

Re: Chess Puzzles (1,2) by Tikko(m): 4:25pm On Apr 07, 2006
Well that was good but i rather wish we were playing this game together. You see there is no way white will win this game in just three moves, only if red will fold its hands and be watching without playing. From little analysis, white has the game but can just win in three moves as you thought it may be, because a good player like me can make more that three moves before the mate comes. If you have any contrary view, then i am waiting.

Freind, look closely into the game and think a little bit more, i am telling you that WHITE WILL MATE IN 3 MOVES no matter what you play as red or maybe lets give some people to tacke it first before I show you the way to crush the red.

Re: Chess Puzzles (1,2) by xdos(m): 11:47pm On Apr 07, 2006
Letz try mating it this way,
Play Queen Qf2-qf8 (sacrificial move)
the black has no choice than to play Bishop Be7-Bf8
White play knight Ke4-Kf6 to check black king which moves from Kg8-Kh8
White checkmates the game with rook by playing Rb7-Rh7
,
Does that solve it? cool
Re: Chess Puzzles (1,2) by Rhodalyn(f): 12:22am On Apr 08, 2006

My thumb is up,you get it my brother.
Many people will not want to sacrifice the queen. Thats a nice move.
Re: Chess Puzzles (1,2) by xdos(m): 6:16pm On Apr 09, 2006
@Kinglarry,
Thanks, it took me sometime 2 figure that out, grin
But I know there are critical games, I do sacrifice my queen, once I have an aim, cheesy

Re: Chess Puzzles (1,2) by Chiori(m): 8:35pm On Jul 27, 2007
even with three moves you can't checkmate the black. your king is just left at the mercy of the black queens move to checkmate
