As efforts to resolve the crisis rocking the All
Progressive GrandAlliance (APGA} continue
to meet brick walls, Ambassador Bianca,
wifeof Ex-Biafran Warlord, Dim
Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu has
warned thatif the National Chairman of the
party, Chief Victor Umeh failed toretrace his
steps , he would be rendered a king without
a kingdom.
Speaking during a meeting of stakeholders of
party held in her latehusband’s Enugu
residence Saturday, Mrs Ojukwu regretted
that Umehwas absent at the meeting
convened to find lasting solutions to
theproblems of the party.
“This party must function as a national
party, we are calling on ourgovernors to
strengthen this party at all levels, we call on
our
national chairman, we are calling you to
come back home, we want youto come back,
the legacies of Dim Chukwuemeka Ojukwu
will not die inyour hand, this party must
move, this party must survive. If you donot
retrace your steps, we will render you a king
without a kingdom”,She said.
She noted that her late husband consistently
called for setting upof a reconciliation
committee that would reach out to aggrieved
persons who were frustrated out of the party,
declaring that there wasno internal
democracy in the party.
While warning that time was running out,
she stressed the need for allorgans of the
party at all levels to be restructured,
regretting thatmost organs of the party were
moribund.
Mrs Ojukwu expressed dismay over what she
described as destabilizingcomments of Umeh
in the media, insisting that the comments
wereunacceptable.
In a related development, a communique
issued at the end of the oneday meeting has
called on the National Executive Committee
{NEC} ofAPGA to organize a National
Convention without further delay
andarrange to conduct proper congresses
throughout the Federation.
Our correspondent observed that the
National Chairman of the party,Chief Victor
Umeh, National Secretary of the Party, Alhaji
SanniShinkafi, who allegedly sent text
messages to discourage people
fromattending meeting, State Chairman and
some official of the party in Anambra State
were absent at the meeting while Governor
Peter Obi,Mrs Bianca Ojukwu, Speaker of the
Anambra State House of Assembly,Vice
Chairman , Board of Trustees of the party, Dr
Tim Menakaya,Chairman of the party in the
South east, Hon Barrister MorganAnayalechi
were in attendance.
