The 65th edition of the Cannes International Film Festival, no doubt brought moviedom to its feet, with stars, stakeholders, veterans, pundits, critics, the media from different parts of the world converging in one arena for the prestigious festival. Austrian director, Michael Haneke’s “Amour”(Love), starring revered French actors Jean-Louis Trintignant and Emmanuelle Riva, clinched the highest award “the Palme d’Or” . The movie revolves around the love of an octogenarian couple facing the end of life. It’s the second time Michael Haneke will win such at the festival following his earlier win in 2009 for “The White Ribbon”.

Mads Mikkelsen won the Best Actor award for his role in The Hunt, a drama directed by Thomas Vinterberg, which was selected by the Ecumenical Jury for its top trophy.
