FG owns UNILAG not state/student. Since he finance UNILAG nobody or group of people has the right to question is order.
If u ain't contended with decision you can leave. University of Ife was changed to OAU(d name make it more famous) there was no stupid protest, likewise Nnamdi Azikwe,Michael Opkara University etc....Can bet you that the protesters are ones that apllied all because of the name and not the standard.

Thought the stupid protesters will protest against what GEJ called achievements.

He said he has increase our Power Distribution from bout 2000MW to about 4000MW....(is that what they promised)
He empowered about 1200 youths through YOUWIN(imagine 1200 out of millions of youth)etc....

I can prove to you that the protesters can't reason for themselves.

Reasonable posters....how best can we tell our President that all we need is not grammar.we only need to things ...POWER and EDUCATION.....

POWER will empower millions of youth...
EDUCATION will strengthen and improve our knowledge/Skills after which we will be good Leaders and followers

The father of that protester(although i doubt if he is a student] carrying placard should stop wasting his money paying school fees for the weed smoker,
using the money to play baba Ijebu or to buy d0g meat alias 404 would be better. angry

LeoMax: Do not insult Mr. President, politics is not like browsing, it is the job of the President to try to amalgamate the different tribes, renaming UNILAG is one such decision he had to make. Abiola was a great man, who, from nothing rise to become a billionaire, by hook or by crook, if you can do same, then you can criticise renaming of UNILAG to Abiola University, a true Nigerian will know the award is well deserving. For the Yorubas who think Abiola's name is not sweeter than "UNILAG", I will say, history is the best judge, dying for a right, is commendable act that I cant do. UNILAD dies, MAU lives. Thanks Mr. President.

If my memory serves me well and it does, you were one of the croons supporting GEJ's inane increase of petrol in the country. I hope you recall the the bulk of Abiola's wealth was from ill-gotten money. I can accept all the immortalization that has been in his nme June 12, MKO polytechnic, but MAULAG ! That's stupid. UNILAG is a brand and ruthlessly spoiling such a brand is not in good taste. Prestigious universities in the Western world have never changed their names for great men thought they birthed men far greater than MKO.

That's not true. Americans insulted Bush when he was in power, even broadcasted most of these insults on major TV stations and those insulting him were not arrested. People over there can say insultive words about Obama and no one gets arrested. Reason being that they are a democratic country and freedom of speech is a luxury they have.[img]data:image/jpeg;base64,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 Flyboy Zee: What kinda Nigeria is this self?

When OBJ ruled, he did as he liked, how many of those funny, silly cretinous Lagosians protested?
Whom did Yar'Adull consult before taking his decisions?
Now that GEJ is president, the only thing you hear about his decisions are "it is not timely", "the timing is wrong", "he should have consulted with the people", etc.

Why is it that, the Yorubas must protest over every & any thing GEJ does? Why didn't they protest when that Egba Baboon from Ogun State was president, even when he (OBJ) witheld Lagos State's funds for as long as it pleased him. Why didn't they protest when BRF sacked the entire Medical Doctors in Lagos? If that act (sacking) was done by GEJ, they would have closed down Lagos and all their mumu states in protests. What annoys me most is when all those foolish people from other tribes join in, not knowing that some people are using them to pursue a yoruba/ACN agenda of discrediting whatever the president does. God is watching all of una.

Challenging a double Phd holder. GEJ was a lecturer when this dude was in kindergarten.

GEJ has been the deputy governor, the governor and now the president, not this guy's mate.

People should know how to protest.

You see in democracy, there is freedom of speech. He can say what he wants and insult every political office holder,na I'm right. After all if GEJ had remained a lecturer he won't be insulted like this.

Being insulting is not a way to solve problems, dat guy doesn't even look like who can solve his own problems.
Nigeria's problem is not GEJ, we Nigerians are our own nightmare, we r always quick to criticize, we forget dat there has been issues on ground b4 GEJ came in, he is just an ordinary man like any other, we expect him to perform miracles, or do some sort of magic, if d average Nigerian youth cannot be patriots n love dis country no matter what, then d revolution dat we want is stil very far away, my heart bleeds wen youths speak -gative abt our beloved country, if u want to see change, be d changed dat u want to see

You are wrong, freedom of speech goes with civility, rights are not absolute.
Have you asked why John Terry was charged, is not because of the same 'we are in a democracy i have freedom of speech'.

mystolad: FG owns UNILAG not state/student.

You are dumber than dirt. With fools and ignorant people like you, Nigeria is not going anywhere but backward into the stone Age.

UNILAG belongs to the people of Nigeria, not the federal government and the people of Nigeria are the ones financing UNILAG and paying your dumb and illiterate president's salary. This is why your leaders take you for granted and mop the floor with you dumbos.

Uni Ife was a regional UNI founded and built by the western region/Yoruba people and changed by a dictatorial military government that Odechukwu is following like turkey.

Illiterate kids with no sense of history or self worth.

You need good leaders to first give you good education and skills before you become good leaders yourself, not the other way around.

The name change is a distraction to pending national issues like fuel subsidy scam,d name does nt really change d contents of students as a great ife student,OAU does nt guarantee automatic employment likewise unilag.ife, zaria ws changed and heaven did nt fall.if it was renamed herbert macaulay university no useless protest wld av emerged, likewise if ur skul fees ws increased astronomically there would b no protest so u av no basis 4 protesting. Now on Dictator GEJ he shld undastnd the principle of democracy dt dere is always consultatn with any parties involved in any decison dt wld affect them,u cant b autocratic all d tym dis is nt millitary administratn where u decree.u av jst shown ur level of clueless, focusless, planless, visionless, directionless to pilot the affairs of dis country.its nt a do or die affair it does nt require a Phd to do simple arithmetic.aw on earth will removal of subsidy bring employment, create jobs, repairs lagos ibadan road, build refinery, fund educatn sector, revitalize our health sector, fund power sector as if there is no budget 4 dis.remember ur days are numbered in aso rock and posterity wl nt forgive u.PEACE OUT.

Really?

You have to read the comments on this page:

http://www.mlive.com/news/kalamazoo/index.ssf/2010/06/he_fell_asleep_during_presiden.html

e.g.

"I did not like Clinton's politics either, but at least he could speak publicly without a teleprompter.....as could Reagan. Obama cannot. An assumption is often made that a person capable of speaking eloquently in public must be an intellectual. Take away Obama's teleprompter and he'd sound like a bumbling idiot and no smarter than Bush.

As for Obama's ability to read.....that's great of you to hold him to such a high standard. However, understanding what one reads is what matters. And he obviously is clueless otherwise he would understand his policies and socialistic ideas have failed every time they've ever been tried. Again providing proof that he's certainly not an intellectual."

The guy is entitled to freedom of speech and his own thinking. Personally I feel GEJ needs to send his wife to MAULAG to learn some finesse.
