manny4life: Haba Beaf, That is the Naija mentality!!! Remember, Lagos and Rivers earn roughly the same (rivers earn a little more) yet Lagos has more to show for it! In all this, people are still trying to justify criminality! It is a sad day for Nigeria! |

You want to hear a shocker? That the people of Rivers State stormed government house and beat the crap out of the rulers that be appointed governor and his aides. That would be nice for a change |

manny4life: Haba Beaf, Look carefully, that was one of the fake Beafs. I challenged it here: https://www.nairaland.com/954217/governor-amaechi-awards-himself-lifetime/1#11001094 I do not endorse any such lifetime pensions. The money will be better spent on the poor. |

I hope rivers ppl will nt vote for anyone he supports in d next election so dt he'll nt enjoy all these things he want to enjoy while leaving d ppl in poverty. IS HE NT AWARE DT NIG IS A POOR COUNTRY? HOW MUCH INVESTMENT HAVE HE MADE FOR D STATE?SHAME ON PDP!!! 2 choice houses in any area of their choice in abuja or rivers? How many have he built as a gov 4 d state? Why abuja? And what is this abuja furniture?is this nt a case of high greed? |

This move is 100% supported by Abagworo. With these juicy packages, any future Governor that loots in Rivers State should be sent to the hangmans garden. |

Here are better links explaining the bill
Lol at the last part, by the time they have finished with Rivers 80% of their revenue will be used to pay retired Politicans salaries. Oh and I guess the 300% furniture allowance represents 3 times his anual salary, just for table and chairs my brothers and sisters. |
Re: Governor Amaechi Awards Himself Lifetime Pension by Arnold1(m): 9:21pm On Jun 03, 2012 |
Unbelievable As you all can see, all of the problems of Nigeria are not the fault of Hausa/Fulani. (by the way, I am from the south) |

Opposition reacted. though now they will probably leave the Law untouched if they ever get to power.

Abagworo: This move is 100% supported by Abagworo. With these juicy packages, any future Governor that loots in Rivers State should be sent to the hangmans garden. The way previous governors have been sent to the hangman's garden abi? This out-of-office pecks is tantamount to stealing while in office. There's absolutely no difference. |

For the lost souls...R I P, and for people like Amaechi, the souls we lost today didn't know they would all go today, they sure had billions like you who didn't work for your cash, so if you like, have fourteen lions and let them be paid for blinking...when u die, take them all with you. NONSENSE... |

Re: Governor Amaechi Awards Himself Lifetime Pension by Nobody: 11:00pm On Jun 03, 2012 |
Ameachi's approach to governance is juvenile. He thinks this is all a joke and it is about laughing and having fun as long as people count him amongst the 'performing' governors. |

manny4life: Lol! I no get duplicate! Patent infringers will be summarily executed by molue accident. I've complained to the mods about this, but they don't care (thats if some of the fake Beaf's are not mods). NL is a dirty place where some are eerily desperate. My complaint is here: https://www.nairaland.com/938835/lets-complaints-suggestions-enquiries-here/1#10914254 @topic Amaechi has played a very bad hand. It can only point to one thing, he hopes to set up as a godfather in Rivers with residual powers long after he has left. Governors usually become senators (fill in the gap). |
Re: Governor Amaechi Awards Himself Lifetime Pension by PhysicsQED(m): 12:13am On Jun 04, 2012 |
How can he have any house of his choice in Abuja? What does that really mean? That if it's a ridiculously expensive house, the Rivers state government will still have to pay for it? If these reports are true then Amaechi is a scoundrel and a thief. |

Actually, DUMMY, in 2007, the Lagos State House of Assembly passed a similar law, Law 11 of 2007, which guaranteed Bola Ahmed Tinubu the exact same benefits Amaechi has just foolishly awarded himself. Basically, this law is just a verbatim copy of the much earlier ACN version, so you really should be saying: ACN!!! ACN!!! ACN!!! ACN!!! ACN!!! ACN!!! ACN!!! ACN!!! ACN!!! ACN!!! ACN!!! ACN!!! ACN!!! Abagworo: This move is 100% supported by Abagworo. With these juicy packages, any future Governor that loots in Rivers State should be sent to the hangmans garden. I understand where you are coming from and to be honest I do not mind the pension that much (even if 100 percent is quite high). There should be a safety net for life outside office so that governors can focus on the task of governance. But come on, two houses, one in Abuja one in Rivers? 300% furniture allowance? Its just a tad opulent. Are govenors going to start selling furniture is what I really want to know. The thing seems a little fishy to me. |
