To those of you who think westerners can't put a foot wrong, think again! How can a parent go home without his daughter, David only has 3 for crying out loud. If it was a 'common man' they'd have labelled them unfit parents and called in social service. Many of us were brought up to always tell our parents whenever we wanted to go off on our own but these days too much freedom is given to kids. Freedom is not the abscence of responsibility and children need to know that. How many nigerians will fail to check that their children are (all) in the car before driving off home?

Prime Minister David Cameron left his eight-year-old daughter in a pub following a Sunday lunch, after a mix-up with his wife Samantha. The couple's daughter Nancy wandered off to the toilets while they were arranging lifts and they only realised she was not with them when they got home...Mr Cameron rushed back to the Plough Inn in Cadsden, Bucks, where he found his daughter with staff...When Mr Cameron left the pub he went home in one car with his bodyguards and thought Nancy was with his wife and their other children in another car. Mrs Cameron had assumed her eldest daughter was with her father

This is quite common... one parent assumes the child is with the other and vice-versa. Although I think Cameron is a complete dolt, I think he made a honest mistake here.

Indeed. Imagine if the taliban, etc had been watching for an opportunity like this? It will probably give britain and the american an excuse/ justification to continue with the 'war against terrorism'

@tinkybabe: the man is out of touch with reality and this only proves it. His government is talking of introducing parenting classes and I guess he and his wife will be the first students; afterall, we're all in it together!
