Otedola and some other oil barons have been indicted for foul play in the subsidy saga by a committee led by Farouk Lawan. Consequently, Farouk sought for and allegedly received bribery money to expunge Otedola's name from the list of subsidy money foul players. While we are basking in the euphoria of Farouk proving that he is not the saint he has always claimed he is, we should not lose sight of the fact that Otedola has been indicated for a serious economic crime. It is my opinion that the fall of Farouk should not imply the end of the subsidy probe and implementation of its outcome. Otedola and other oil thieves like him should be dealt with by the law. They are the same as Farouk: utterly corrupt. |
