Good morning mamas. So glad to officially port from preggy thread here.

Abeg mamas help a ftm. My dd is 11 days old, and she strains and strains when she wants to poo, even though the poop comes out egusi-like. If you see the way she strains ehn, you wee think she wants to poop Giddyperson's historic rocky mass yet the poop comes out normal. Sometimes when she tries and tries and the poop is yet to come out, it makes her kinda cranky. Abeg what's the matter and what can I do to help?

Please don't pass me by.

Try gripe water.
Some are like that, till they understand is normal.
Some exclusive feed babies, find it hard to poo, too.

She is four and half month. She is only on BM and formular. I have Gerber rice I bought to start feeding her at four months but decided to wait till five months. Let me try and give her small. The ish now is that she does not even want anything, Just the ORS.

Please stop the formula for now. Manage BM and ORS. Viral infection run its course within seven days,The ORS is to replenish lost fluids. At 7kg ,you can introduce banana, rice to baby. In little quantity to aid her system.

It's usually given in the hospital mostly only the first few hours. By the next day I was giving my baby formula. Me I think you should still buy it

On my hospital list for baby, there is glucose in the list thats incase breastmilk doesn't flow immediately but in our antenatal classes the midwife told us not to use glucose for our baby bcus of the sugar content in it, that baby is so tender to start taking in sugar substance like that, so it brought to my question if formula is preferable and doesn't have sugar in it(as in is it as pure as breastmilk?). I'm doing my shopping I want to know the necessary one to get. Thank you as I anticipate your replies.

Pls has anyone experienced this, if u have how did u overcome it..

My 8 month old son has refused to eat, normally he takes BM from the bottle and cereal from the bottle (not thick) buh since yesterday he has absolutely refused to eat anything. .He had cereal by 2pm yesterday and refused to eat anything till morning, I practically forced him to take BM from the bottle and since then, there's nothing else he will take. .

He is teething though, the first lower tooth just showed up and d second is abt coming up... gum is all swollen and he is so oo clingy n cranky. ..

Any ideas y he is not eating?

I'm just so worried. .. He seems to have lost weight since the teething thing started

Mama please please I beg you guys in the name of God, help me. My baby has been stooping since on Monday. Gave her zinc and ORS . It became worse on Tuesday so we took her to the hospital. Series of tests were done and all came back clean. The doctor said its viral and that it would stop. How she contacted a virus after we took Rota is what I cannot explain. We went to another hospital the following day, they said the same thing. No drug was given. Just to continue zinc and ORS. Stooling was so much yesterday with fever that it was at 11pm we rushed her to a govt hospital. Pediatrician on duty said the same thing. Keep giving zinc and ORS. I suggested giving her flagyl to stop the stooping but the doctor said No. I'm tired. What home remedies can I use to stop this? She hasn't eaten in 48hours,only zinc and ORS is in her tummy. On Monday she was weighing 7.6kg, yesterday she weighed 7kg. Mamas please help me, I'm losing my mind here.

He was admitted last week and also placed on antibiotics and everything seems fine just for the temperature to return again. I am so down at the moment and I feel I should change his pediatrician. Try and introduce some new food to him like apple, pawpaw, carrot, mango puree. Also, calm down because when they are teething they tend to have high temperature, some may stool, vomit and all.

It is well with your son in jesus name.

@spiceeamiee, mama her have advised. Please mash or blend the banana well to avoid seed in it. She will be okay and continue giving ORS as advised.
Try and breastfeed her, she may want to bring out teeth.

I think its the weather. We got discharged from the hospital this morning too. High temperature and cough. Funny enough about 6 kids r on admission for same.
