Thawed milk should not be re-refrigerated or re-frozen. As Kimoni advised, ensure you get containers that you van fill with the exact amount she needs....give or take a few mls. It is very painful when BM wastes. Back then, I used to prefer wasting formula than BM lol.

Milk can be stored at room temp for 6hrs
In a fridge for 6 days
In a fridge with a freezer combo for 6 weeks
And in a stand alone freezer for 6mths

Thanks a bunch

What type of milk pump do you use? If available, you can get about 4 bottles from the same maker. You can then express the quantity he drinks per feed in each of these bottles and store them in the fridge. Try and keep them in a separate compartment in the fridge to keep the freshness. Using the same bottles reduces manual handling of the milk thereby reducing the risk of contamination.

As per milk remnant, to avoid wastage, express just what he needs per feed in a bottle. But if there is any remnant, its not advisable to put it back in the fridge. Instead try and give it to him within the hr.

If you have a fridge in the office, pls go ahead to express at work and keep it in the office freezer so it retains its temperature till you get home and then keep in the fridge for the next day. The breast is usually very full in the morning, so you can also express then but most importantly, just find the best time that suits you.

Thank you my sister

Thank you mama, it is well o. She takes Cerelac, Gerber oatmeal and Friso Wheat. Once in a while she takes normal foods like amala, rice, mashed Irish potatoes, noodles but she's so addicted to the cereals that regardless of the quantity of normal food she takes, she only gets satisfied after taking cereal.

She takes the cereals well. Yes, she's teething. I'm guessing it's because I gave her Cerelac about four times before daybreak last night all because of this weaning. I'll change it this night and reduce the number of feeds too.

God bless you.

@Rashomo. Thank you, I'm trying.
It is well. Just a matter of time, she'll adjust. Bless you too

Dats quite different from the one I used..... A long time ago I used a morning -after pill and I ended up leaking milk from my breast which is very abnormal cos it leads to infertility. My doc gave me d drug to use for 5days and I had no side effect.
Dat drug is most times prescribed for ttc women to correct hormonal imbalance, guess dats d one chyvv is talking about.
Yes, that's d one I mean. To correct galactorrhoea (dunno if I got it right).

It's not what some mama says...it's wat the manufacturer says. COARTEM IS NOT LONART Whatever drug you're taking during breastfeeding, consider your baby first.

@miracle mum, I suggest wht ever fruits u want to puree for ur lo shld b tried n out as snack first to c how much she likes it b4 pureeing. it can b really painful after all d stress and she decides its play time instead of eating. my baby prefers fruits as snack. he can finish a whole mashed avocado without milk. he prefers banana pureed and he takes apple like snack. infact his every day snacks are apple nd watermelon. its d red apple because its softer so he uses his gums to bite on it. im usually careful so he doesnt get to bite a big chunk in order not to get choked. For the water melon, i use my hands to squeeze the juice in his mouth and i put the mashed fruit in his mouth after. i do this everyday whn i get back from school by 6pm. its a routine. whenever I feel its time to get messy, I give avocado just for the fun of it nd he enjoys it cos he has d opportunity to feed his head nd nose with it so they dnt feel left out. I gv oranges too like every 2days nd no it doesnt purge my lo. I also gv plum fruits. he sucks on it. I personally prefer to gv fruits as snacks cos it saves time nd they can take it whnever u r taking it. besides fruit puree no dey belleful by lo. whn amala nd ewedu dey there. mashed potatoes with butter, crayfish nd titus fish. may God bless our los and crown our efforts

I have used Tommie tipppee, Philips Avent and Medela at 3 different times and I'll say they were all good. They also sell spare bottles that fit into the breast pump directly. But other sabi mamas will suggest other good ones.

True, manual pump is actually manual...lol...very tedious

Pls @kaffy4bill and other mums I need your advice. My baby is 5 weeks old and this colic thing is getting out of hand.I burn his navel with hot towel,I give him infacol before feeding yet this thing isn't improving. He barely sleeps for an hour before I see him arching his back and groaning right before he wakes up.He passes out lot of gas tho.I try to burp him after each feed but it's either he's asleep before he's done eating or it takes almost an hour to get him to burp.Pls I'm a FTM,I'm getting frustrated here and I want my happy baby back.Is there anything I'm not doing or should do?
Then on this issue of pooing,He still doesn't poo after 2 days and that gets me scared and worried.Had to stimulate his bum with cotton swabs and robb.Pls guys I need your advice oooo.i'm about to lose my mind. He'a just 5 weeks, too young to go through all this cry

Use Vaseline if you must and try not to. Is he on formula? Baby E was like that at that age and it wasn't Colic but she was reacting to her formula and it gave her excess gas (Enfamil sometimes affects some babies like that) so I switched to Gerber Goodstatt Gentleease and I saw a lactation consultant to help me BF better. Try Enfamil Gentleease if you can find it. Also if you can find Prune juice, dilute 3:1 ratio (water to juice), upto one ounce and let him drink it (my paediatrician's suggestion). That will help with the constipation or a little water daily (slower working). Prune juice ismt as acidic as Orange juice. Other formula to try are Aptamil.

My lactation consultant taught me that a lot of what is described as Colic in babies is actually them. reacting to something they don't like but you don't know. I thought I had a colicky baby but once we changed her formula and I BF more, it was gone, the constant gassiness was gone, the constipation is now gone and my milk supply improved. I really wish I could get that consultant here to answer questions, she knows her stuff. When she's talking to doctors, the respect in their eyes for her... (she was the only one to find Baby E's upper and lower lip and tongue ties, everyone else was going "oh baby can't eat, baby is colicky"wink.
