My madam arrived Aug 26th. It all feels so surreal cos she's not a regular newborn.
She weighed 4.33kgs. Looks and behaves like a 3mths old, I'm confused on how to handle her. But I'm sure.this thread will provide all the support I need in raising a super newborn.

Good morning wonderful moms,
I have a 5minths old baby who is Exclucively breastfeeding for now and is about to be weaned to semi solid food. I'll really appreciate ur advice on the following milk based on ur experience.
Aptamil
Cow and gate
SMA gold
I'm having a hard time choosing and will appreciate ur constructive ideas. Also I will like to know the cereals u use for ur baby.
Thanks.

Mama's,
How are we doing? We just collected our 6th week immunisation.Someone scared me on my way back by telling me she does not give her children immunisation becos it causes SID(sudden infant death).
Abeg ooo.I have never heard this part o.

Hian! There is no specific cause of SIDS...It is just like colic....many things can lead to it. It would have been a different thing if ahe said Autism....but SIDS...mba!

Please keep your kid away from her. Its people like that who have kids that end up emdangering the life of other kids. A woman lost her 3mth old to chicken pox abi na whooping cough...all because she was exposed to kids that were not vaccinated. Where I stay, they are making it a law for childcare centres to refuse to admit kids who are not vaccinated.

Thanks Nita2013 and kaffy4bill on your experience with tommy tippee teat. Each time i use it for my 3months old son, he keeps pushing it out or is it me that can't use it? Or is it that its too soft/hard for him? Maybe i should try the momma feeding bottle. Please how much does it go for? Thanks.

Tomme tippe is silicone teat and it's soft enough, as Nita2013 rightly pointed out it caves in during feeding cos its soft.....so imagine smt softer dn that.
Has ur baby bn using a bottle before? Or are you just introducing it?

I also sterilize everything that goes into his mouth. After giving ur LO the zinc, did it stop?
Pls at that age, ur baby shd get half tablet (10mg) once per day for 10-14 days. Only babies 6m+ can take the full tablet per day.
I used it too and it worked.

Tommy Tippie and Medela are quite soft and tend to collapse. Dr Brown's is slow flo and and very well recommended.

Re: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by bablors(m): 1:58pm On Aug 30, 2015
My advice to nursing mother;make sure you breast feed your baby for the first six months. Exclusive breast feeding makes your baby healthy and strong. Each female breast contains 15-20 groups of milk secreting glands, connected to the nipple by the milk ducts. During pregnancy, the placenta and ovaries secret high levels of the hormones estrogfen and progesterone, which stimulate the glands to produce colostrum. Colostrum provides your baby with tater, protein, sugar, viitamin, mineral and antibodies to protect him again infection. The production of colostrum ceases, and that of milk begins about 3-5 days after the baby is born.
