Hello guyz pls i got this error "Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 122880 bytes) while uploading to a domaini just paid for,
Only for the hosting company to tell me they dont hv capacity for such memory size at the moment.
Pls what does it really mean?

Dont know wht to do.
These hosting companies wont specify things like this when advertising.

Pls is there anybody in the house who can help? , i really need an hosting plan that offer such memory values

There are many ways of solving this problem.

Method 1:

create a plain text file - php.ini - and save it into the root of the websites e.g. www folder or public_html or httpdocs or whatever it is

put this into the text file - you can edit the figure as you please:
memory_limit = 50M;


Method 2:
You need to make use ini_set to alter the memory. . . .

Method 3:
Yawns, tired. . .

i'll stick to method 2 of DHTML's advice

ini_set('memory_limit', '100M');

note that current your host WILL send you packing if you do this on their shared server too often.
FTP is a safer way to upload files of such size. you used up 33Megs of memory, that's the memory_limit allocated to your server's php.

i wonder how long you waited to get that much luggage to the other side only to be told that.

Thanks, but it's still not coming up although it has stopped showing the error but browser keeps telling me :: The page isn't redirecting properly

If the page isnt redirecting properly, try this trick.

At the begining of the page that is not redirecting, let the first thing be
<?php ob_start(); ?>

Also, we need an error message to know why it is not redirecting, but try that my trick first and lets see.

Try to change that value to 256 or 512. And also go to ur htaccess to allow it permanently the initial value has been locked in d htaccess that's why d site is not coming up
