We are dead
.... six feet beneath
the earth
we never heard the cries
of our mourners
we never saw the teardrops
of the sad hearts we left.

we lie here lonely
abandoned
forgotten

yet yesterday we were
celebrated
hailed
today our pictures
lies in shackles

is this the joy of living?
is this the pain of leaving?

yet if we wake
and see our legacies trampled upon
like waste
we will but die again.
