It's something that AAs and diaspora Africans with perseverance have to battle every day. You would have no idea how many times I go somewhere as common as a grocery store or mall, and someone is telling me "Wow, you speak good English!" They expect anyone with a darker tone of skin to speak with slang, have lots of babies by different men (none of them around), weave, bad mannerisms, etc. That's what happens when the majority is generalized from the sour grapes of the bunch.
