Perm Sec: Patience Jonathan’ll Serve In Absentia, Earns No Pay – Spokesman by youngies(m): 7:32am On Jul 13, 2012
The first lady, Patience Jonathan, will not relocate to Bayelsa State to perform the duties of permanent secretary and will not earn any pay during the period.

Her spokesman, Mr Ayo Osinlu, stated this yesterday during an interview with an online medium, PREMIUM TIMES.

Governor Seriake Dickson had on Wednesday appointed the wife of President Goodluck Jonathan as a permanent secretary in the Bayelsa State civil service alongside 17 other senior civil servants in the state.

But Osinlu claims that, unlike the others appointees, the first lady will hold her office in absentia.

“She is on leave of absence. She is not going to function in the office of the permanent secretary in Bayelsa State. It is a civil service position. She is a staff of the Bayelsa State civil service. But she will also not collect any perk for the office. It will be illegal for her to draw salary from the office,” he said.

According to Osinlu, the first lady is apparently delighted at the appointment, saying that she had no cause to publicly accept or decline the appointment.

The president’s wife, who left the Bayelsa State civil service 13 years ago after her husband became the deputy governor of the state, was elevated to the position usually reserved for senior civil servants.

Governor Dickson had claimed that he made the appointment in line with the constitutional powers conferred on his office.

I believe she has been sworn in already. Why must she give acceptance speech when she will not be the only one to be sworn in.

You see this mad people?

The objective is to make her retire as a Perm Sec.......the most senior civil service post. That way, she will be entitled to a fat pension and gratuity when she eventually retires. These people are so greedy.....the money she's stealing as first lady is not enough. She wants to insure her future. God is watching....and when his wrath comes on ALL of them, they will be consumed.

There is more to this than met the eyes. Is it that madam first lady is guning for a future governor position or she wants to use this opportunity to tend to her other business interests back home?

When you think that Nigeria has broken all records of idiocy, they, like a bomb comes with a bang.
So courtesy of Emperor Jonathan and a dimwit called Dickson, there is now a honorary permanent secretary award in Nigeria?
Not done with an unknown and unconstitutional position called first lady, not done with using a title specifically designated for British women of outstanding achievements in theatre, film and writing called "Dame".
This actually reminds me of the Deposed Romanian president Nicolae Ceausescu in the 80s during his autocratic rule, made his illiterate wife a professor in the Bucharest university with a big state fanfare and all the real professors had to attend for the fear of their lives.
But we all knew how Ceausescu and his wife Elena ended.

I know something comparable to this will materialize. what do you presume from the immoral unethical dishonest crooked shady fraudulent as well as debase government?
Re: Perm Sec: Patience Jonathan’ll Serve In Absentia, Earns No Pay – Spokesman by Eziachi: 11:12am On Jul 13, 2012
Mark my word, this action will now sets off a new trend for the crook elites, knowing how bad things catches up with Nigerians.
Because this is nothing but a new or another way of dressing state pension fraud. So whatever happens now, she will end up with a generous pension, while they're busy sacking venerable family providers from their menial jobs.

And like her husband , she doesn't give a damn.

We will be so disappointed if she declines, because we know them, they can never do anything right!!!
