It's a petrol car, Golf III GTI

Lex, I'm fine, thanks.

This Golf III is NOT a 2.0 GTI. I know it has "GTI" inscription on the rear rubbing strips, but it's definitely not a GTI!

All Golf III GTI's, both 8 and 16V models, as well as the VR6, had 5-stud wheels, and disc brakes at the rear. This one has 4-stud wheels, and drum brakes at the rear, so most likely a 1.6 / 1.8., seeing as it has a/c. 1.4 cars in the UK didn't come with a/c, even as an option.

Post up the chassis number, and I'll run it through my system here, it'll tell me the year, colour, wheels fitted from the factory, engine size / type, transmission code and every option Volkswagen fitted to your particular model. Useful for you too.

Chassis number will be in the lower corner of the front screen, and will start. . .
