She also said "I know not all Nigerians are into this kind of fraud, I know there are some wonderful and hard-working Nigerians, so save your emails"

Whoever wrote that letter to the Punch did not see the show. I did and still have it recorded on my DVR.

Nigerians,please don't believe everything you read.While it is true that Nigeria has a negeative image worldwide.Oprah never said that all Nigerians are corrput.The article in question where this story seems to have started from was not a Punch article by one of its correspondents but a letter from a reader.Transcripts of every programme aired on Oprah are available on her website.
I have watched many programmes about 419 on Oprah and in the last one I watched she said :"Now please don't send letters explaining that not all Nigerians are corrupt,because I know that the majority of Nigerians are good people,that I already know'.

We do have a big problem with corruption in Nigeria and we can only solve it ourselves.

I was told she said that on her show some months back bt i didnt watch it and someone started a thread like that on Nairaland

Oprah is high on drugs.Why would an educated and well placed woman like her make flimsy statements.How ignorant can one be?I tink she shld start by painting her community well to the whole world instead of trying to remove the speck in another mans land.

Maybe people shld remind her of the ills of the Black community.
