Politics / Re: Olisa Agbakoba Applauds President Tinubu On Floating The Naira And Subsidy by 9jantatainment: 6:11pm On Jun 14, 2023
Flets:
All tinubu has done is to set up Nigerian masses for absolute and perpetual suffering.

Why the urge to quickly float the naira without plans? Do we have sufficient USD to flood the market and meet the FX demands in the near term? If people cannot walk into the bank and buy USD without filling forms A, M etc.... its only little time before USD exchanges for 1000 naira

On fuel subsidy, Why should the masses bear the responsibility of the inefficiency of the FG?,

why can’t the FG protect the boarders to ensure subsidized PMS does not get to neighboring countries?

Why has the FG not prosecuted and jailed anyone involved in the subsidy fraud to stop others from doing so?,

The claim that subsisdy is a burden is fallacy cos the subsidizing the actual consumption of less than 10million liters per day is not a burden compared to the FG’s current fraudulent claim of 66million liters per day. Why not a gradual removal of the subsidy?

Where is the savings from Diesel and kerosene subsidy and what has it been used for?

The student loan bill is a plot by the Tinubu led FG t to stop funding tertiary education in Nigeria leading to the end all education subsidy. Who do you think are the final beneficiaries of these moves, same criminals who will end up looting the funds meant to fund the tertiary education.

What exactly is the role of the Nigerian FG if they relinquish every responsibility to the masses? What sacrifice has the political class made in all these mess? Have their allowances being reduced? Any efforts at stopping the lootings?

All Tinubu has done is to transfer responsibilities to the already suffering Nigerian Masses to ensure there is enough for him and his goons that supported him into office

We can only hope that the government's good intentions to eradicate unscrupulous practices by a few individuals who exploit our shared resources will be successful. In my view, the effectiveness of this FOREX policy effort largely relies on the genuine commitment of the banks. Although the foreign exchange (FOREX) rate is theoretically determined by market forces through import and export transactions, the banks, acting as intermediaries in these transactions, may choose to allow their associates to monopolize the available FOREX, artificially creating a scarcity. Consequently, the price of the dollar could rise even higher, surpassing the current rate.

Considering our GDP in relation to earnings from crude oil sales, diaspora remittances, foreign direct investments, and other factors, it can be argued that a well-managed Import and Export (I&E) window would provide Nigerians with readily available forex at a significantly lower cost compared to the prevailing black market rate.

SOS CALL Please!

Applied for FOREX through UBA but got a rejection for non-inclusion of B.SC certificate (ASUU and NASU causing damages since 2000bc). I thought "To Whom It May Concern", transcript, and NYSC discharge certificate should suffice for it. Please does anyone know of a bank that will accept those documents mentioned in lieu of a degree certificate? Thanks, comrades

Business / Trade Is Key To Africa’s Economic Growth by 9jantatainment: 12:58pm On Aug 02, 2021
Trade is critically important to economic development. Right now, Africa has about 2 percent of all world trade, which is hard to believe when you think about all of the tremendous resources that they have - oil, diamonds, gold ... not to mention all the agricultural products such as coffee, tea, cocoa - and to think that Africa still only has 2 percent of world trade is really incredible. But the power of trade is that if the Africans were able to increase their share of world trade from 2 to 3 percent, that 1 percentage increase would actually generate about $70 billion of additional income annually for Africa," or about three times the total development assistance Africa gets from the entire world, Liser said.

Many countries in Asia and Latin America, don't have even one smidgen of Africa's natural resources - a country like South Korea, for example - yet they are huge players in the global trading system. This is why having AGOA as one initiative aimed at expanding the U.S. aspect of economic relationship with the Africans, is so important.

United States needs to work with the countries of sub-Saharan Africa in many areas so they can take full advantage of both AGOA and worldwide trading opportunities and send exports to emerging markets such as China, India and Brazil.

And Africans must begin trading more with each other. "Africans trade the least with each other than all the other continents. It is improving. There are a greater increase in intra-African trade, the reason that that is important is that you are unlikely to be competitive globally if you are not competitive regionally. So until Africans open their borders with each other and trade with each other, you are not going to get the level of competition that will allow them to be major providers of any product globally."

For that reason, the United States strongly encourages all African countries to develop an "AGOA strategy" based on export promotion and competiveness,

"You look at the products you have, and you determine the three or four particular products or sectors [where] you have a comparative advantage.

Trade is no doubt a key factor in the economic development of any nation, paucity of funds have been a hindering factor in making this happen. However, funds aggregation from investors can make a difference. This is why IBSS Capital is presenting an opportunity for interested persons to invest in its products distribution and supply chain investment packages to facilitate the distribution and supply of agricultural and other agro-allied produce.

fkj950ax:

No traffic.
They have a traffic management plan. And it's going to FTZ, not Apapa Ports.

Other large equipment was delivered and no issues

Are you for real? How can you say "No traffic". When was the last time you visited that corridor, words cant express the hardship people face on that ibeju epe road now, no thanks to the heavy duty trucks working at the refinery. To now think that this mighty equipment will be moved to the refinery using that same road in its current dilapidated state, it is my prayer that it does not fall off its conveyor between the epe jetty and eleko juction because of the massive potholes on the road. How i wish i have pictures to share for you to see what motorists go through on that road on a daily basis. Most if not all equipment to be used at the refinery passed through that same road so i do not think your position on the usage of the FTZ and not Epe jetty enroute Apapa port is right, besides there arent much equipment at the FTZ port to facilitate the disembarkment of such equipment from the barge that brought it.

I honestly think that in a saner clime, a more comprehensive EIA should have been carried out to address issues bordering around transportation of heavy duty equipment and materials using the existing road and how it affects the environment and other road users. The hardship on that corridor for the past some months can only be imagined. A journey that should not take more than 30 mins now takes about 9-10 hours. Must we die because we want to be self-sufficient in fuel production?

Politics / Marijuana Farming Is The Future Of Mass Land Cultivation -Seun Kuti by 9jantatainment: 10:59am On Jul 10, 2019
Son of the late Music legend Fela Kuti,Seun Kuti have expressed failure of the government in meeting the aspirations of the youth. He commented on a facebook post by Senator Babafemi Ojudu who is the former Special Adviser Political Matters to the President , and aide to His Excellency, Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo.

Babafemi Ojudu took exception to an earlier assertion by Malam E-Rufai where El-Rufai berated the Northern elites and governors for the neglect and backwardness of the region and called for immediate actions to be taken to bridge the gap between the prosperous south and the impoverish north.

Babafemi Ojudu in a facebook post titled "El Rufai is Wrong" had noted that the South need not be deceived into beleiving that the region is doing well. He noted that there is an increase in the number of out of school children who are subsequently recruited into “yahoo yahoo” and “yahoo plus”. He also noted that In the face of the neglect, the Governors continue to live in affluence and have turned themselves to demi gods. Seun kuti reponded to the post of Babafemi Ojudu and berated the government for the woes of the youths. See his post below;

"May I ask one question sir. Is it the job of the government to bend our existence to what they want or to strive to meet our potential. If the youths don’t want to farm it’s the job and duty of the leaders to meet their aspirations not say hey all we have is hoe and cutlass. No sir. I strongly disagree. The youths are being failed not the other way around. As u said they aren’t adversed to manual labor as they are fixing potholes so create a viable ministry of works and use their labor to fix the country!!"

Seun Kuti also disagreed with a part of the Ojudu's write-up where he condemned the efforts of a sitting Governor in the cultivation of marijuana. Seun kuti wrote

"And marijuana farming is the future of mass land cultivation. Whether we see it so in Nigeria or not, the world is moving"

Politics / FG Seizes Kola Abiola’s Oil Block by 9jantatainment: 3:56pm On Jun 10, 2019
@Fontpixs.com

Ahead of the first official recognition of June 12 as Democracy day, the first son of the man whose electoral victory is been celebrated has lost a major asset to the Federal Government of Nigeria

For five of Nigeria’s oil tycoons, it is a final goodbye to the oil blocs which they have sat on for so many years, turning into profitless, resourced-draining, debt-ridden, unproductive ventures on their watch. After many years of losing billions of Naira to joint ventures which were yielding little or nothing into the national treasury, the federal government finally declared enough is enough.

As you read this, Summit Oil International, currently run by Kola Abiola, the eldest child of the acclaimed winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential elections, MKO Abiola, has lost its rights to Oil Prospecting License (OPL) 206. The company had been groaning under heavy debt burden, rendering it incapable of developing the juicy oil field. It is currently fighting against a winding up petition instituted against it at the federal high court by Seistech Energy Company over an alleged failure to fulfil its contractual obligations.

In the same boat are four other companies whose oil mining licenses have been revoked by the Department of Petroleum Resources based on a directive from the presidency to “recover legacy debts”. Among those who now have one less oil bloc to boast about are billionaire businessman Dr Festus Fadeyi whose company Pan Ocean Oil Corporation lost its rights to OML 98, northern oligarch Aminu Dantata whose ownership of OML 108 through Express Petroleum and Gas Company was revoked, and Borno billionaire Alhaji Zanna Mai Deribe who lost his company Cavendish Petroleum Nigeria’s OML 110. Also affected were OMLs 120 and 121 which were revoked from Allied Energy Resources Plc owned by US-based moneybag Kase Lawal.

While Kola Abiola and Summit Oil fight for their lives in court, Festus Fadeyi is embroiled in his own legal saga with the family of the late Vittorio Lecca Ducagini Fabbri, the founder of Interocean Oil Exploration Company, over ownership of Pan Ocean Oil. The court cases and myriad other challenges facing Kola and Festus have rendered them incapable of sparing whatever scant resources they have left towards developing the oil fields awarded their companies.
However, not a few people were totally caught unawares by this development. They were shocked that some people hitherto thought to belong among the untouchables could suffer such a fate. Even when the warning signs that the government would crack down on corruption and waste in the oil sector flashed bright, most chose to ignore it.
But now that the hammer has fallen, it has caused huge reverberations in the sector.

Some of the others who own non-performing blocs have been quaking in their boots wondering whether they wouldn’t be next on the firing line. A source in the presidency confided that the seizure of the oil blocs from the five companies was a last warning for the rest to put their house in order less they become sacrificial lambs.

Politics / Gbenga Daniel Reclaims Mouthwatering Property by 9jantatainment: 10:35pm On Jun 09, 2019
@FrontPixs

These are certainly great times for two-term former governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel as he took back the possession of his yet to be completed hotel building eight years after it was taken over by the recently concluded administration led by Senator Ibikunle Amosun. The former governor was said to have betrayed emotions as he resulted to tears when he visited the site recently. In what the Daniel camp alleged was a witch hunt taken to extremes over political differences, Amosun refused all entreaties by major stakeholders to release the hotel.

Despite some court orders in Daniel’s favour, Amosun remained obstinate as the Certificate of Occupancy on the land was revoked and not returned for several years. There was even talk of moves to take over the structure and convert it to a state utility.

However, while the engineer turned politician is happy to be alive to repossess his possession courtesy of the newly inaugurated governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, he’s saddened at the level of rot the property has recorded even as lots of expensive fittings have been looted due to the negligence of the government that placed a seal on it.

Politics / Finally, Buhari Gives Obasanjo Below The Belt Punch by 9jantatainment: 11:50pm On Feb 06, 2019
For so long, President Muhammadu Buhari had refrained from attacking former President Olusegun Obasanjo, his senior in the army. Even when Obasanjo tried to fatally injure him through his acerbic letters, the president kept mum.

But not anymore. In Akure the capital of Ondo State, Buhari delivered a sucker punch to the chin of his former boss when he declared that he was only seeking a second term and not a third as some people did.

The President was addressing the Ondo State Council of Obas when he delivered the punch.

His exact words: “We have just finished one term and are seeking a second one. After that, the constitution doesn’t permit any more.

“There are some who tried looking for more but they did not succeed. We should learn from their mistakes.”

Buhari’s statement was unveiled by Tolu Ogunlesi via a video recording at the meeting. Tolu superintends digital communications in the presidency

Politics / Re: APC Sanwo Olu Free Wifi In Surulere. PICS. by 9jantatainment: 3:05pm On Nov 12, 2018
is this enough to show that Mr Sanwo Olu is interested in building the Bill Gates, Jack Mas and Mark Zuckerberg of this world, in my opinion, the answer is capital NO.

Without making reference to the fact that this could be an electioneering stunt to deceive the gullible, let us face the real issue which is the act of providing internet connectivity.

The idea behind this noble project is to provide connectivity at no cost for productive usage. There are other components like electricity, computers, conducive environment etc which are needed for the access to be fully enjoyed. If any of the candidates is really desirous in making a change with respect to helping to develop IT among the citizenry, then such candidate, hopefully before this time would have been involved in funding a ICT center (maybe in a small scale) where there will be constant power supply, conducive working environment, research resources, computers, etc.

Something remarkable happened yesterday. In 12 hours Alibaba.com made a sale of 13 billion dollars. Alibaba is an IT company, a sale of 13 billion dollars . This company was established in the apartment of a Chinese school teacher Jack Ma.

How long will it take our country to make a sale of oil worth 13 billion dollars?

The way to go for our country and for our people is to innovate, be creative. That is the way to create wealth , to generate employment and ultimately a good life.

Celebrities / Davido's Bodyguard ‘pushes’ Him Offstage At Glo Mega Music Show by 9jantatainment: 1:25am On Aug 27, 2018
Davido treated music lovers to some good music at the Glo Mega Music Show which came off Saturday evening at the Fantasy Dome of the Accra International Trade Fair Centre.

It was all about singing along and dancing to their favourite musicians’ songs at the event which brought Ghanaian and Nigerian artistes together.

The show was running smoothly until a fan accidentally pulled Nigerian act, Davido off the stage.

The 2018 BET Best International Act award winner was performing his hit song ‘Dami Duro’ with some cash being sprayed on the stage when some fans jumped onto the stage to grab some of the money for themselves.

A starstruck fan who couldn’t hold himself back was able to go past the musician’s security guards and hug Davido.

Upon realizing this, one of the guards tried to push the fan away but the fan fell off the stage together with the musician.

That incident, however, didn’t affect the ‘Assurance’ hitmaker’s performance as he got right back into it when he was pulled back onto the stage.

Other acts the performed at the event included Sarkodie, Flavour, Yemi Alade, Kuami Eugene and Patapaa.

Sports / Dike Backs Eagles V Libya In CHAN Clash by 9jantatainment: 2:37pm On Jan 17, 2018
Former Enugu Rangers manager, Alphonsus Dike has backed Nigeria’s Super Eagles Team B to edge the Libyan opposite, the Mediterranean Knights at the on-going 5th African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Morocco.

Eagles will confront the North Africans in Friday’s Group C CHAN matchday 2 clash at the Stade Ibn Batouta in Tangier, Morocco.

The Nigerians played out an energy sapping 0-0 draw against the Amavubi of Rwanda in Tangier on Monday while the Libyans enjoyed a comfortable 3-0 win against debutants, Equatorial Guinea.

Dike said Eagles must be natural and avoid anxiety that seemed to be the shortcomings in matchday 1 clash against the East Africans to subdue the Knights of Libya.

“Eagles showed lots of anxieties in their goalless draw against the Amavubi of Rwanda which aptly explained the barren draw in the clash.

“Eagles created chances in the encounter which means the team is good, a team is bad if they cannot create chances.

“The fact that they struggled for ball among themselves within the vital area of their opponents is a proof of anxiety.

“Everyone wants to score perhaps impress the coaches to chance inclusion in the 2018 Fifa World Cup squad.

“It becomes the duties of the coaches to calm the players down and remind them that the key is getting chances and scoring not who scores.

“Anxiety could have explained the number of balls that hit the woodwork in the match against Rwanda.

“The loopholes are correctable by the coaches and the team will be apt and shooting perfectly in other matches.

“I strongly believe that if the players could calm down, play their normal game they are certain to beat Libya on Friday.

“However, the players must demonstrate enough determination to win the clash to chance qualification from the group.

“I have absolute confidence in the team to run down the Libyan opposition come on Friday in Tangier,” said the former Golden Eaglets and Nasarawa United coach to frontpixs.com.

Nigeria have a point after matchday 1 clash against the opponents, Libya’s three points and must win outright to chance qualification from the group.

Eagles last group clash will be against newcomers, Equatorial Guinea on Tuesday, January 23 in Agadir, Morocco

Business / Re: Free Affiliate Marketing Tutorial Class (with pictures) by 9jantatainment: 11:21pm On Apr 19, 2017
The effort of @bobowaja must be greatly commended. It is a selfless person that will dish out as much as he has done without demanding for a dime all in a bid to help humanity (atleast we have had people seek for assistances all the way from SA on this thread).

Affiliate marketing is unarguably a big business and @KingOfThePay is right to say that there may be need for investment at some point. But then, business best practise is to start small and scale afterwards. Starting small means spending less to achieve as much as you can. The money made can then be re-invested into the business. Been on nairaland alone is an investment (you have to pay for data plan), coupled with the time been spent for the different setups.

Trust me, the way @bobowaja is taking guys through the business of AM is the best way anybody with good heart and intention will do. Cant imagine that we still have Nigerians that can be this selfless. I had personally tried opening CB acct on several ocassions on the PC without success ever before this thread, it never crossed my mind that i should try on the mobile but alas he opened my eyes to it and boom i now have a CB acct.

@bobowaja has placed the needed resources in the hands of people that really want to grow to becoming a super affiliates. I see alot of super affiliates springing up from this thread if the lessons given by @bobowaja is followed religiously. Is it the email list for the meagre fee of 2k you want to talk about. I once tried creating an audience in FB with a paid ad fom buzzcity, if i had a good list just like the one from bobowaja, i would not have spent such an amount of money on paid ads with buzzcity. Yes you want to argue that the list is not well targeted but atleast you have material to start off with and you can now begin to create different audiences from the list in FB so as to have a more focus marketing.

There is no doubt that traffic helps a great deal in determining the success of an affiliate but patience is also a factor which cannot be underplayed. One have to be patient to build a large follower base organically or otherwise, then you can now begin to milk off your base.

Lets just assume that we have whites following our topic on our fb page the way we are following @bobowaja's lecture, you can only imagine the number of quality leads we will have in our sales funnel. (Bobowaja exhibited a great deal of patience in developing the followers and with a lot of hardwork. If he had paid Seun to run ad on nairaland for his list, someone like me would have wakapass the advert without paying shishi)

Like a fellow pointed out earlier, @bobowaja is only laying the foundation, the ingenuinty of the student will determine how much such student will earn from AM.

@KingOfThePay may not also be totally wrong in his submission about paid traffic and Affiliate Marketing(i hope @bobowaja's other faithfuls dont come for my head ooo) but this is an introductory class and normal growth cycle follows the pattern of crawling, walking and then running.

And lastly i will advise that we mind our use of derogatory words to express displeasure at each other's submissions.

Thanks once again to @bobowaja for the good works. God bless you.

Entertainment / Bianca Lost Two Babies For Femi Fani Kayode -kemi Omololu Olunloyo by 9jantatainment: 12:47pm On Sep 10, 2013
There is a shocking revelation from Kemi Omololu Olunloyo regarding the FFK and Bianca saga. Here's the bit she claim to know about their affair;

Nigeria's Ambassador to Spain Mrs Bianca Ojukwu lost two babies for Femi Fani Kayode during our days in UK. They planned to wed. Ask their parents, some in the heavens above. At least Govenor Onoh and his wife Caroline were happy at the time. The first baby was miscarried (Act of God) and the second she #ABORTED! This is what really broke them up. Femi wanted his BABY and he left HER!

I will keep telling the truth as Bianca needs to STOP saying she NEVER MET him!!!
