I dated this lady in school. She was the love of my life. Despite the fact that I've been having relationships before we started,I love this girl. We were in the same department and in final year. I started working after service and she went back to school. Her mom happened to be a secondary school principal and 'in charge' of the family. The father who happened to be a Professor who is not always around. In the family,the mother dictates everything and I mean everything. I heard about her impending wedding on my way from Lagos to Ibadan for her birthday. All I could do was turn back and called her on my reaching Lagos. That was 2003. I got married the same year. She contacted me some months ago and started telling me funny things. Obviously,she's having serious problems with the husband;bothering on battering,lack of care, drunkeness etc. She is not finding things easy! She sent this sms last week; [i]You know what? You're worth more than your weight in gold. I'm busy piecing my thesis 2geda and I said to myself it would be a lot easier for me to do if I'd been your wife but since my folly didn't allow me to be then I'd have to keep pushing myself (all alone) to progress in life. Thanks a lot for being there when you did, I already told her it's not worth it trying to revisit old issues. No point whatsoever fraternizing with her at this time.
