There are years that we lost money on both our rental properties and on our 401K if you know what that means and if you don't, Google is your friend. We take all our deductibles for charities and depreciation on our properties but there's no way that we can do that without paying taxes for ten years. There are a lots of bigger Real estate billionaires in NY than Trump and that may surprise you and not single one of them take that kind of a loss ($1.2billion ) over that period. In fact, last year I had one of my buildings really torn down by the horrible wind during our snow storm and it cost a lot of dough to repair it and I took out all the necessary deductions that i am legally required because I don't want the IRS coming after me like they did once and wifey and i still ended up paying almost $33.000 in Fed taxes and that includes the CGT (Capital Gains Tax ). I had to pay almost $4.000 in taxes to the State of Illinois. Here you are who is absolutely ignorant of how taxes works in America coming on Nairaland fooling loud mouths like you who I am damn sure don't pay taxes in your Nigeria. See how sad your case is.
