Kobojunkie:It happens in the UK, yes, they're staying in a government house, but pay the house rent, the difference is that it will be smaller than the other non-government housing. But my brother pays all the bills. Even the lady confirmed it and she claimed she'll suffer for the rest of her life for losing her caring man The marriage is not legal over there though. They're just staying as partners. You know how they runs it over there na. |
In the last two years, things have not been going well with my brother and his wife. My brother will call me and lament about his wife's behaviour, he told me that anytime they have a misunderstanding, this lady changes the key and locks him out in the cold. Though he's the one who pays the rent and all the bills, the lady gets child support and spends lavishly on unnecessary things while the apartment is given to his wife by the government. But the last one she did, my brother left the house and swore never to have anything to do with her again. Even my brother did it to the extent that he requested the DNA of the son; unfortunately, he's the owner. This lady has been begging everyone, and both her parents and some family members have travelled down to our place to plead on her behalf, but my brother insisted he's not interested in the marriage again. He was scouting with one of our cousins before, and we thought that when he got tired, he'd move back home as usual, but this man has gotten an apartment and does not let anyone know the location. The worst of it all is that he did not talk to his 7-year-old son and didn't take on any responsibilities for him again. The boy keeps crying to see his dad, but my brother keeps saying her mother is only using him to get his attention, saying the boy will see him when it's the right time. This lady called me last week and said he wanted to pack from the house and my brother should come move all his belongings, but my brother sent me back to her that she should throw everything away, he mentioned that the lady can frame him up or call the police for him and turn to legal battles. I believe whatever happened between them, the boy did not cause it, and cutting off his only child emotionally and financially is not self-protection but abandonment. I know marriage can end, but fatherhood should not. You can abandon marriage and still fully show up as a father. The two are not the same contract All the family are tired, and even I, his closest brother, am tired. I only want him to be a responsible dad to his only child. Please, what can I do? I really love my brother and want peace for him, however I pity his child.

The same thing will happen to APC and the reason some people are dragging PDP just for them to have where to land and negotiate. |

Streetinvestor2:I am not an Inec staff member, so if the power grid collapses, the internet can collapse, just like a human being. Again, there's a manual results sheet, and you're asked to present it and mention what score and what was recorded for you, but until now, you people are unable to provide it and keep blaming a different set of people for your inability. To your last question, I don't just vote or come online to make noise, I mobilised voters for people who share my interests and not 100 votes. If you need my people's vote, you'll have to make us understand what you'll do differently. |
I think I use more than 2 terabytes from it. |

onuman:You forget there's politics before government? |
I am a full supporter of Asiwaju, and I hate betrayals. I support Wike in going to any length to force them to fulfil their agreements. |
IJAYA001:You don't get the sarcasm. Some people forget the history and said we're now moving to one party system. |
But we're now moving to one party state |

Will this tax affect the unemployed who manage to feed themselves somehow? |
I keep telling those emotional people, but they won't listen.... How can assembly satisfy the tax law and be passed in law, you want to stop it? Only the House of Assembly can call it back, and I have never seen the majority of them discussing it, but rather a few aggressive individuals. |
They'll finish Makinde with his style of politics. I like the phrase of "Dangote was not the first person to make $1million but now the richest in Africa. |
Kukutente23:You're not there with them and he might be right. Fight indeed make friends or lovers change. Imagine someone who calls you darling or different sweet names suddenly change to your real name because of disagreement. It happens bro |
It's indeed Seyi Makinde is frustrated |
I love the way Wile is fighting... Share it equal or forget it. |
Good2go1:Same as most... Only allegations. |

When public officials speak, the nation listens. When they speak on tragedy, the nation remembers. And when they speak on money, especially public money, the nation must ask questions. The January 2024 Bodija explosion was not a political incident. It was a human tragedy. In seconds, lives were lost, houses were destroyed, and livelihoods were wiped out. In that moment, Nigerians are not interested in political theatrics. They only want assistance, rebuilding, and accountability. This is why the current discoveries and discussions involving Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde call for clarification that is clearer than press releases and more powerful than counter-allegations. The Federal Government, led by President Bola Tinubu, allocates ₦30 billion to address the Bodija tragedy, following a previous promise of ₦50 billion. Governor Makinde's media team confirmed this. According to several sources, victims only received ₦4.5 billion of the total ₦30 billion payout. However, we were informed that the balance was used for reconstruction, infrastructure repairs, and other activities. Fine. That is the governor's stance. But public accountability does not end with stances. The process begins with questions. Here are those questions I would love to ask. First, let's establish the arithmetic. ₦30 billion received. ₦4.5 billion went straight to sufferers. This leaves ₦25.5 billion. We demand to know exactly how the ₦25.5 billion has been spent so far. Contracts issued, deadlines, beneficiaries, milestones completed, and sums paid are all specifics, not vague platitudes like rebuilding is ongoing. First, let's establish the arithmetic. ₦30 billion received. ₦4.5 billion went straight to sufferers. This leaves ₦25.5 billion. Nigerians demand to know exactly how the ₦25.5 billion has been spent so far. Contracts issued, deadlines, beneficiaries, milestones completed, and sums paid are all specifics, not vague platitudes like rebuilding is ongoing. If reconstruction is underway, it means that not all of the ₦25.5 billion has been spent. So, where is the unspent balance kept? Is it held in an interest-bearing account? In the Treasury Single Account subhead? At a commercial bank? I believe transparency necessitates answers, not assumptions. Third, many people are muttering but not questioning aloud: if any portion of that money has been maintained in a bank account for months, how much interest has accrued? Public funds earn interest. Interest earned from public funding is likewise public money. Has interest been earned? If so, what amount? What is the plan for that interest? According to Governor Makinde's media, inducements were demanded to release the remaining ₦20 billion, but he declined. If that is correct, Nigerians should applaud the refusal. However, the integrity of resisting inducements must be matched by the integrity of administering what has been released. One should not cancel the other. The governor has also linked this incident to a broader political war involving former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, and the fault lines ahead of 2027. Politics may explain reasons, but it does not justify opacity. Tragedy funds aren't campaign talking points. Governor Makinde is widely recognised as one of Nigeria's most visible opposition governors. He has spoken persuasively about democracy, one-party rule, and the need to save institutions. Excellent. Transparency, however, is the most effective defender of democracy. The loudest rebuke to intimidation is transparency. The most persuasive response to criticism is documentation. Show Nigerians the ₦30 billion ledger. Show us what was spent, what is left, where it is held, and whether it has generated interest. If interest has been earned, explain how it will be used to provide more help to Bodija victims. They claim that sunlight is the best disinfectant. Politicians should never frame the Bodija explosion as a proxy conflict between them. It should remain as is: a sad reminder that stewardship, not speeches, is the most important test of leadership. I believe Governor Makinde can rise above the cacophony. Not with hyperbole but with receipts.
