A match fixing Scandal Back in 2013, one of the most outrageous match-fixing scandals happened in the Nigerian second division. Plateau United Feeders defeated Akurba FC 79-0 while Police Machine defeated Bubayaro FC 67-0. Plateau United Feeders and Police Machine were in competition over who would gain promotion to the Professional League, as they were both level on goals going into their respective games. At half-time, Plateau United Feeders were leading 7-0 while their promotion rivals Police Machine were leading 6-0. Apparently, both clubs went into the break to discover that the other was doing well, so they didn't want to take chances in the second half. Plateau United Feeders scored 72 more goals in the second half to bring the score line to 79-0, while Police Machine scored 61 more goals to bring the score line to 67-0. Ahead of the premier league return next week, a former Ghanaian footballer has claimed to be the father of Manchester United star Marcus Rashford. In a startling revelation, Michael Boye Marquaye, stated during an appearance on Ghanaian radio station ‘Starr FM’. The united striker is officially the son of Jamaican Joseph Rashford and Melanie Rashford from St Kitts and Nevis. The former Ghanaian international who lives in the UK, gave some details to the media outlet: “Rashford is my son and he knows it although we haven’t seen each other for several years .“Initially he was angry because he thought I abandoned him but that was not the case”, added Marquaye.
