OYESIJI HADIAT SADE
It was Sunday 18th October, 2009 when OYESIJI HADIAT SADE (MISS) 100 level student of science laboratory and Technology (SLT) and Matric No. 082972 Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) OGBOMOSO had an accident with her colleagues on their way back to school following the suspension of nationwide ASUU strike from Saki, Oyo State. Unfortunately, she had her spinal cord seriously injured and other supported injuries.
In late 2010, a diagnostic test was carried out on her and it revealed that she can still walk on her feet but on oversea treatment in India. Here, the struggle begins…
Verily, am happy to inform you that Oyesiji Hadiat Sade (UHID: 1020073493) who is wheel chair bound with alleged history of involuntary movements of both lower limbs, spasticity of both lower limbs which prevents her from sleeping was flown to India on 13th of June, 2012 and had an operation that cost over 5million naira.
But, is this the end? Hadiat is yet to have the second operation and there is no fund for that. What a pity! Also worthy of note is that the second treatment (step) is urgent as her visa has been extended for two months after its expiry on January 15th, 2013 and will expire now on 15th April, 2013.
We look forward to your benevolent assistance on this final operation in order not to get the substantial amount of money that has been spent so far sabotaged. Any fund can be forward to the Foundation’s account, with the details below:

1. Account Name: MSSN LAUTECH SAVE A SOUL
Account Number: 2019251473
Bank: First Bank plc
2. Account Name: SAVE A SOUL
Account Number: 0049 530 486.
Bank: GUARANTY TRUST BANK (GTB)
No amount is too small.

Nairaland GeneralAre We In Anyway Different From Our Leaders? by abdulrazarc(op): 2:45pm On Apr 05, 2013
As long as you as an individual do not feel responsible for the well being of your fellow countryman in your daily dealings, surely you won't care much about the citizens when you hold a public office.

Check out our public office holders, they were actually the 'me and my family alone' type before their political or government appointment. A story was told of a multi millionaire that pays his gatekeeper only N15,000. This gatekeeper is a man with a wife and three children. Apparently the multi millionaire feels no concern for livelihood of the gatekeeper and his family, not even if he lives below $2 dollars per day. Wait, before you swiftly conclude that the multi millionaire is selfish or inhuman; this gatekeeper is a fellow that prefers spending more than half of his meagre earnings at the beer parlours and pepper soup joints, taking the crumbs back home to his family for subsistence. He cruelly doesn't think of an adequate education for his children, neither does he care about the welfare of his maybe faithful wife. Will he even think of his hungry neighbour? Are you any different? We are all the same. We only hide under the guise of the ineffectiveness of our government.

This is the kind of situation we find ourselves in this country. Neither of these two men would make a good public office holder. They would obviously worsen our case. According to Olakunle Soriyan "We are all the same. We only shield and hide behind the cloak of irresponsibility of the government to hide our selfishness and greed. If government is responsible for governance then every human being is responsible for love, empathy, benevolence and kindness that define our humanity. Love is a duty, kindness is a must and the commitment for you to do something is a necessity for the weak and the helpless around you. Your conscience is your guide.

Time has shown that selfish individuals won't actually do much as a public office holders. Until we start assuming responsibility for the well being of the next man, we are not yet ripe for progress.
God bless Nigeria
