1.Past: Be unclad to your partner so that if anything crops up in the future, nothing will meet him/her by shock. He/she will even laugh about it and said I am already aware. Therefore, both partners should be open and tell each other about their past. Any partner that cannot accept you with your past is probably not for you. Tell him/her what you have gone through up to the point you are now. For there is nothing covered that will not be reveal and hidden that will not be known. If you hide anything now it will surely come to limelight tomorrow and then, it will bring chaos so why not let him/her know your past now to prevent future calamity. ‘The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment’ (prov. 12 vs. 19) never lies nor hides anything from your partner for it will only last for moment. 2.Future plan: Planning your future together is another courtship advice you must take seriously. The person you are courting today is the person you will live your life with until death do you part. So, plan your future together, how you want your home to be, how you want to raise your own family, how you want to live your life, where to spend vacations. 3.Finances: this deal with financial management. Argument about money is considered the top predictor to divorce. Not having premarital discussion on finance can easily lead to divorce because of the mismatch in money and personalities. This is why it is as essential to find common ground in financial temperament as it is in other aspects before tying the knot. Talk about everything be it your income or expenses, savings and debt, your attitude towards money and how both of you are going to manage the finances to live a better life. It is important to discuss financial issues because attitude towards money vary according to ones upbringing. One partner may be a spender and the other careful; a wife may expect her husband to handle all the expenses in the house because her father did so. Many decisions in relation to money. Therefore, clearly communicating ones view about finances before marriage will help to avoid conflict. Ask if both of you will operate joint or separate account, what will be the financial goals. Discuss on how to share money and bills i.e financial management. 4.View on divorce or separation: talking about the longevity of your marriage is also very important. The structure of this is that some people belief that marriage should end if the love is gone while others belief that divorce /separation should never happen in marriage. Therefore, you need to know the view of your partner if it matches with yours. If he/she is someone that belief in divorce/separation and you don’t or vice versa, you need to tackle it fast otherwise both of you are coming into marriage with two entirely different expectations/view. Desire family size: discussion on the number of kids you want to have is also very important so that it won’t be an issue in marriage. Ask if he/she want to have children, if yes, how many? What will be the age bracket? What type of birth control should be use if he/she wants to postpone or prevent parenthood? What type of parent will he/she like to be? What is his/her parenting philosophy? The reason for this is that ideas about child-raising may differ according to the way one was brought up. 5.Likes and dislike: what does he/she likes and dislikes? Take your time to know his/her best food, best attire, best color, and best friends. What he/she love doing during his / her leisure time? Knowing his/her likes will make you know what to do in other to make the relationship smooth and fun. number 6-9 will really blow your mind . read it up at http://www.afrikanviewblog.com/relationship/issues-to-discuss-in-a-relationship-before-tying-the-knot/
