Starting today, our MSMEs can now process the registration of their products with NAFDAC from the comfort of their homes, and at an 80% discounted rate over a period of six months. This is thanks to NAFDAC's e-Registration assistance for MSMEs through the Automated Product Administration and Monitoring System (NAPAMS).* Also, in recognition of the current economic challenges, we also commissioned additional NAFDAC palliative for Micro/Small businesses, which includes zero tarrifs for the first 200 micro and small businesses to register on the e-platform, and waiver on administrative charges for overdue/late renewal of expired licenses of products for a period of 90 days. It's quite clear that the President is committed to supporting existing MSMEs and encouraging the rise of new ones, as a sure way energizing and sustaining our economy through these times. We reserve special commendation to the DG of NAFDAC and her team for this thoughtful and strategic response to the devastation that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused to businesses, especially MSMEs. *Prof Yemi Osinbajo, SAN,* *Vice President,* Federal Republic of Nigeria. 15-05-2020. Let Micro, small and medium Enterprises avail this opportunity. 1 Like 1 Share |

NAFDAC ISSUES CAUTIONARY REGULATORY CONTROLS The Coronavirus pandemic as declared by WHO calls for all of us to be mindful and ensure that measures are in place to keep ourselves and others safe from the Coronavirus by these little things to stay safe: Washing of hands with soap as often as is possible. Use of hand sanitizers where there is no water for hand washing Avoid touching your face Cough into tissue and dispose responsibly Avoid shaking hands with or hugging people Keep safe distance from people As much as possible stay at home .Above all, FOLLOW THE PRESIDENTIAL TASK FORCE GUIDELINES. Being mindful of our regulatory obligations, we have put controls in place to ensure continued work process while also ensuring adequate protection of our staff and clients. Therefore the following would apply: 1. Expedited/emergency approvals for products necessary and critical to support our response to the pandemic. 2. There will be limited Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) inspections for local facilities at this time. 3. Currently, the conduct of GMP of foreign facilities cannot be undertaken due to the pandemic and the current travel restriction on international travels for public officers. 4. Applications for registration of products deemed to have urgent public health impact will be processed and given conditional and limited approvals. 5. All regulatory processes will continue and the Agency remains operational with restricted access in place and a request that stakeholders engage relevant directorates via email and other electronic platforms, which are functional. The situation is fast evolving and we will continue to monitor and adjust our responses accordingly. For further information, please visit our website www.nafdac.gov.ng |
