Shoprite Mall at Ikeja City Mall has informed Customers that they have reopen to the public following Lagos State Safety Commission shutdown on Friday November 27, 2015.
In a twitter message to InsideMainland the Nigeria’s leading consumer goods retailer wrote; @InsideMainland Ijeka City Mall is open for trade again! We’re ready to give our customers good quality and service”.

Officials of the commission were said to have stormed Shoprite on Friday afternoon, drove everyone out and sealed off the premises, placing a seal order at the entrance.

It is believed that the Ikeja outlet was sealed over the safety and quality of the products sold there. Many customers who did not know that the place had been shut were stranded outside the premises.

Nollywood actor, Ramsey Noah, has spoken on his experiences growing up, including having to live under bridges and beg for food in Lagos. The actor who can now be classified as veteran, has had very bad experiences before he got to stardom, experiences that were painful and distressing, making sure that he has now tasted two sides of the coin.

The Nollywood ‘lover boy’ said his journey to stardom proves that there is no shortcut to success but through hard work and determination.

In a chat with Stargist, the handsome actor recalled how he once lived under the bridge while growing up with his mother. “I lived on the streets and in a store which could accommodate a mat with my mother. My mother and I squeezed ourselves in that mat.

“Those were the times when things got really bad for my mother and I and we had nothing. It was so bad that we didn’t have a home to live in. We didn’t even have a cup to drink water, talk more of a stove to cook on. My mother had to borrow, beg and stuff like that.

“Those moments, those terrible moments we had nothing and we were living off people. People were just helping us out. There were times we didn’t have food to eat three or four days. You haven’t eaten and your stomach is rumbling but you don’t have any place to go.

“It was unfortunate that there were no records so that we can have memories we could play back now. To me, I am so extremely grateful that I went through it. At that time, I hated everybody around me. In fact, I used to question why God was doing this to me. But I think God knew that I needed this for my future".

The father of two added:

“These were moments when I was young. I didn’t realise the gravity of poverty we were in” There have been far more appalling success stories but it never makes the experience any easier to forget, but makes one appreciate the present even more.

The chambers of the National Assembly, the Senate and the House of Representatives, yesterday, passed a total sum of N574,532,726,857 as supplementary budget for President Muhammadu Buhari for additional Recurrent (Non- Debt) Expenditure for the year ending on December 31, 2015 to be withdrawn from the Consolidated Revenue Fund of the Federation.

With N109 billion approved by the Senate for fuel subsidy, the total would now amount to N522,258,934,505 as the President, in the letter to the Senate, had requested for N413 billion for fuel subsidy.

Also N5,000,000,000 was approved as Victims Support Funds in the Capital Supplementation which would be re-classified to the Service Wide Vote of N559,217,800,017.

The Senate also approved the sum of N29,958,865,512 to fight the Boko Haram insurgency in the North East and payment of outstanding claims in order to reduce the suffering of Nigerians under the heading, Operation Zaman Lafiya. The Nigerian Army will get N17,468,992,640; Nigerian Airforce, N8,141,434,760; Nigerian Army outstanding balance from 2015 and second quarter, N4,348,438,112.

The approval of the Senate was sequel to the report of the Senator Danjuma Goje-led Committee on Appropriations on the 2015 Supplementary Appropriation Bill.

Earlier, the senators broke into an executive session for one hour as part of moves to discuss the appropriation bill and give the President a soft landing by passing the budget and as a follow up to last Thursday’s dinner the Senators were with the President where collaboration and synergy among the Executive and Legislature were emphasized.

A 30 year old palmwine tapper, identified as Mr. Inibu, was killed yesterday by suspected Fulani herdsmen at Ofagbe community, Isoko North Local Government Area, Delta State, while trying to collect palmwine in a bush along the community’s road to Ashaka, in Ndokwa East Local Government Area of the state. While another man, Mr. Thompson Ogege was severely injured by the herdsmen.


The Olotu-Logbo of the Ofagbe Kingdom, Othuke Omejedo said:

“One woman ran to me that as she was going to the market, she met the lifeless body of a boy lying on the ground on the road leading to Ashaka. She said another one was injured.”

He said the body of the deceased had been deposited in a mortuary at Ozoro, while the one that was injured, had been taken to a nearby hospital.
Omejedo said the injured victim told to them that they were attacked by the Fulani herdsmen as they were tapping their palmwine.
He said:

“We have never had any problem with the herdsmen because they have not been living in this community.”

A farmer was stunned by the sultry shape of one of his home-grown potatoes – and then refused to eat.
The hot sweet potato bears a striking resemblance to someone with a rather shapely behind bending over, and it’s messing with Ben Fletch’s mind.
The potato farmer pulled it out of the ground at his farm in Kent last week and couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw the frisky tatty.
Ben said: “It was hilarious. Obviously it looks like a lady bending over.”
“It did make me chuckle,” he added. “I showed my family and they loved it – we were all laughing for quite a while.”

Unfortunately there’s still many reasons in the world today as to why someone wouldn’t be able to clean out their ears. Whether it’s because of the cost or ignorance to ear care, the one thing that’s certain is that regardless of your own reasons, your ears will continue to produce wax. The children of a celebrated artiste in Akwa Ibom known as Artist Ite buried him in an amazing casket ..According to facebook user, Emmanuel Emmanuel Udoh who was at the burial.
Today I was at the Burial ceremony of one of the greatest artists to come out of the south south to pay my last respect.Indeed he left a big shoe to be filled.A great artist and sculpture. This masterpiece casket was done by 2 of his kids who took after him. Both great graduates of Fine Arts!
