I've been thinking of something like this too.

Many people are already condemning the super eagles, saying they are there for fashion parade but I have been thinking our tradition is being promoted globally. Even if we don't win the world cup, I believe the traditional wears those guys arrived Russia with would have made an impact as I think many foreigners will like to get a Nigerian traditional wear.

A lot is changing in the world right now. This World Cup is quite different. The glamour is good.

For the first time in my 20 years of following the World Cup, football especially the World Cup offered almost everybody a bite of the cake. The event is going beyond football to bridge the gap between sport and fashion which only mean there is more to come in the coming years. We must be prepared.

Quite a lot of people are doing strategic thinking and this was obvious in the Nike's angle of World Cup jerseys especially Nigeria's jersey. The fever continued into the costumes different teams entered into Russia with. My point is this; football may be on it way to create another urban culture in fashion because teams (national and clubs) will approach star matches differently.

Football will never be tired of gaining more audience and with the way this World Cup is starting, different lifestyle brands may take on aggressive endorsement of matches, teams and of players. The market size is quite huge for instance almost all the top four teams in major European leagues have an average of 15 million followers online not to even mention the committed real time audience who will do anything to prove loyalty.

Right I wish I am D&G, Zannotti, Ferragamo because I know they are also following this tournament and most importantly drawing notes. The culture is fast evolving, soon fashion addicts will become football lovers because of the looming interference.
