Want to here some of Bill Gates’ success lessons? Bill Gates is the richest man in the world, after founding Microsoft in 1975. He is now worth $86 billion as of 2017 , as Microsoft has risen to create the number 1 operating system brand Windows, which has been re-developed several times. Microsoft also created Xbox, which has become one of the most popular, if not the most popular gaming system in the world. I’ve scoured the net and compiled a list of 10 success lessons from Bill Gates; which he has given to people at one point or another in his life time, to show them what it takes to become successful and wealthy. He is the wealthiest man in the world after all, so listen up! 1. Start as Early as Possible The first of Bill Gates’ success lessons is to start as early as possible. Bill Gates was only 13 years old when he started working with computers. When you start something at an early point in your life, you become molded around it. Not only will you have a chance of becoming successful sooner than most people, but you would also be less likely to ......Read more @https://techablyengineering..com/2018/09/bill-gates17-success-lessons-to-learn.html

Wednesday, 26 September 2018 By Jeremiah Alayo at September 26, 2018 Reactions: 7 things you don't know about Priscilla Chan, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg's wife Techably Engineering Limited She is married to one of the world's richest men, yet little is known about Ms Priscilla Chan, wife of Facebook chief executive officer Mark Zuckerberg. She came under the spotlight on Tuesday (Dec 1) when the couple announced that they would give away 99 per cent of their Facebook shares, currently worth about US$45 billion (S$63.54 billion), to a new charity. They made the announcement in a letter addressed to their daughter, Max Chan Zuckerberg, who was born last week. Here are seven things about the new mum. 1. SHE IS EVERY TIGER MUM'S DREAM Her long list of achievements reads like every Tiger Mum's wish list. She is the first in her Chinese-American family to graduate from university - a proud achievement considering their migrant working-class background. She holds a bachelor's degree from Harvard and graduated as a paediatrician from the University of California, the third-best medical school in the United States. 2. SHE IS A PHILANTHROPIST AT HEART The 30-year-old likes to go big on philanthropic gestures, which is why the couple's latest announcement ties in with much of the work they have already been doing. In 2014, they donated a total of US$66 million (S$92.9 million), placing them in the 24th spot on the Forbes America's 50 Top Givers list. Most of the donations went to supporting hospitals and schools. About US$25 million was donated to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) foundation for the Ebola outbreak in West Africa. 3. EDUCATION IS A "PERSONAL ISSUE" FOR HER In her first TV interview for US show Today in May last year, Ms Chan revealed how "personal" education is for her. This explains why she and her husband dedicate most of their charitable donations to educational causes. She holds the public school system in high regard, crediting much of her success to the support and encouragement she received from her teachers. The former public school teacher now helps run education initiatives such as Start-Up:Education, a not-for-profit grant-making organisation. She is also the CEO of The Primary School, a new integrated health and education model. 4. SHE WAS THE BOSSY OLDER SISTER Ms Chan is the eldest of three girls, with an eight-year age gap between her and her youngest sister. She admitted in a TV interview last year that she spent most of her childhood bossing around her middle sister, owing to her self-confessed Type A personality. She has a more motherly relationship with her youngest sister due to their age gap. 5. SHE SPEAKS THREE LANGUAGES She can speak English, Cantonese and Spanish fluently. Learning Cantonese helped her communicate with her Chinese-Vietnamese grandparents. She picked up Spanish after realising that most of her patients spoke this language. 6. THEY WERE COLLEGE SWEETHEARTS Ms Chan and Mr Zuckerberg dated for nearly 10 years before tying the knot in 2012. They met while queueing up for the bathroom at a Harvard party, and they have been together since. But they also went through ups and downs in their relationship. In a touching Facebook post on July 31, 2015, Mr Zuckerberg, 31, said his wife had suffered three miscarriages - a revelation which touched many Facebook users who related to the couple's pain. 7. THEIR FAMILY DOG BEAST IS MORE POPULAR THAN SHE IS The couple's beloved pet is one of the most followed on Facebook. Beast has more than 2.2 million followers on his page, which is over a million more than Ms Chan. The page features heartwarming pictures of the famous Puli - a type of Hungarian sheepdog - which has distinctive fur that looks more like Bob Marley's dreadlocks. source:https://techablyengineering..com/2018/09/7-things-you-dont-know-about-priscilla.html

1. Your state: the state play a very important role I’m determining who will be admitted or not and one of the reason nuc and jamb introduced catchment zone is to ensure that any indigene of a state or someone that belong to a particular region is considered ahead of others. Chopping your state university will definitely give you an edge and selecting a university or polytechnic within your region will also make a difference. 2. Your jamb score: I don’t need to emphasize much on this and it’s no longer new that candidates with higher score in jamb will be considered ahead of others. The rule still remain the same. The higher your score the higher your chances of gaining Admission. 3. Your o level result: anyone with incomplete o level result will not..... Best 10 Ways To Calm Your Nerves Before You Make A Presentation
https://www.oou-students.tk/2018/09/best-10-ways-to-calm-your-nerves-before.html |
Speaking in front of other people—even a small group—can be nerve-wracking. You feel anxious, terrified that you'll make a fool of yourself. While the butterflies may never go away completely, there are still some things you can do to help clear your head before your big moment. 1.Practice. Naturally, you’ll want to rehearse your presentation multiple times. While it can be difficult for those with packed schedules to spare time for practice, it’s essential if you want to deliver a rousing presentation. If you really want to sound great, write out your speech rather than taking chances winging it. Try to practice where you’ll be delivering your talk. Some acting strategists suggest rehearsing lines in various positions–standing up, sitting down, with arms open wide, on one leg, while sitting on the toilet, etc. (OK, that last one may be optional.) The more you mix up your position and setting, the more comfortable you’ll feel with your speech. Also try recording your presentation and playing it back to evaluate which areas need work. Listening to recordings of your past talks can clue you in to bad habits you may be unaware of, as well as inspiring the age-old question: “Is that what I really sound like?” 2.Transform Nervous Energy Into Enthusiasm. It may sound strange, but I’ll often down an energy drink and blast hip-hop music in my earphones before presenting. Why? It pumps me up and helps me turn jitters into focused enthusiasm. Studies have shown that an enthusiastic speech can win out over an eloquent one, and since I’m not exactly the Winston Churchill of presenters, I make sure that I’m as enthusiastic and energetic as possible before going on stage. Of course, individuals respond differently to caffeine overload, so know your own body before guzzling those monster energy drinks. 3.Attend Other Speeches. If you’re giving a talk as part of a larger series, try to attend some of the earlier talks by other presenters. This shows respect for your fellow presenters while also giving you a chance to feel out the audience. What’s the mood of the crowd? Are folks in the mood to laugh or are they a bit more stiff? Are the presentations more strategic or tactical in nature? Another speaker may also say something that you can play off of later in your own presentation. 4.Arrive Early. It’s always best to allow yourself plenty of time to settle in before your talk. Extra time ensures you won’t be late (even if Google Maps shuts down) and gives you plenty of time to get adapted to your presentation space. 5.Adjust to Your Surroundings. The more adjusted to your environment you are, the more comfortable you’ll feel. Make sure to spend some in the room where you will be delivering your presentation. If possible, practice with the microphone and lighting, make sure you understand the seating, and be aware of any distractions potentially posed by the venue (e.g., a noisy road outside). 6.Meet and Greet. Do your best to chat with people before your presentation. Talking with audiences makes you seem more likeable and approachable. Ask event attendees questions and take in their responses. They may even give you some inspiration to weave into your talk. 7.Take Deep Breaths. The go-to advice for jitters has truth to it. When we’re nervous, our muscles tighten–you may even catch yourself holding your breath. Instead, go ahead and take those deep breaths to get oxygen to your brain and relax your body. 8.Smile. Smiling increases endorphins, replacing anxiety with calm and making you feel good about your presentation. Smiling also exhibits confidence and enthusiasm to the crowd. Just don’t overdo it–no one enjoys the maniacal clown look. 9.Work on Your Pauses. When you’re nervous, it’s easy to speed up your speech and end up talking too fast, which in turn causes you to run out of breath, get more nervous, and panic! Ahh! Don’t be afraid to slow down and use pauses in your speech. Pausing can be used to emphasize certain points and to help your talk feel more conversational. If you feel yourself losing control of your pacing, just take a nice pause and keep cool. 10.Drink Water. Dry mouth is a common result of anxiety. Prevent cottonmouth blues by staying hydrated and drinking plenty of water before your talk (just don’t forget to hit the bathroom before starting). Keep a bottle of water at arm’s reach while presenting in case you get dry mouth while chatting up a storm. It also provides a solid object to hurl at potential hecklers. (That’ll show ‘em.) Finally, when you’re on that podium trying to make a presentation, find some way to move around and remind yourself that everyone is weird—including the people watching you. It's usually an aspect of our humanity that we forget as we approach the podium, and instead we perceive ourselves speaking to perfect individuals that will criticize our every move. It's one of the reasons that picturing your audience Unclad is one of the most classic of tips. It makes them vulnerable, not you. However you choose to make that presentation, ensure you get your message out there with confidence. https://www.oou-students.tk/2018/09/best-10-ways-to-calm-your-nerves-before.html |
