Agriculture / Rice Farming by Aboguede(m): 12:28pm On Jul 25, 2023
We started some rice farming and I will update the tread according to the journey.

At this stage, we have already done land preparations and we have also planted the rice. We planted a faro 44 rice variety.

The land is 5 plots 50by100 and it is a low land and has enough water retention.

We planted the rice directly to the soil and today is about 5 days since we planted and there has been rain about twice already

If the country does start dialogue soonest, violence and it's attention proliferation of arms will affect everybody. Believe me, it will not take time before non state actors completely overwhelms the country's armed forces. It has happened to more powerful countries. Nigeria's own is not a matter of "if" but "when"

Having ethnic champion as the president of a country who rely on armed milita (like our son Tinubu is doing) is considered the most valid excuse for seperatism.

Let's watch.

Religion / Community Leader Marries A Reptile In M3xico by Aboguede(m): 4:49pm On Jul 02, 2023
As onlookers clapped and danced, a mayor of a small southern Mexico town entered into holy matrimony with a female reptile in a traditional rite to bring good fortune to his people.

Victor Hugo Sosa, mayor of San Pedro Huamelula, a town of Indigenous Chontal people in the Tehuantepec isthmus of Mexico, took as his betrothed a reptile named Alicia Adriana, re-enacting an ancestral ritual.

Sosa swore to be true to what local lore calls “the princess girl.”

“I accept responsibility because we love each other. That is what is important. You can’t have a marriage without love… I yield to marriage with the princess girl,” Sosa said during the ritual.

Marriage between a man and a female caiman has happened here for 230 years to commemorate the day when two Indigenous groups came to peace — with a marriage.

The reptile is a caiman, an alligator-like marsh dweller endemic to Mexico and Central America.

Tradition has it that frictions were overcome when a Chontal king, embodied these days by the mayor, wedded a princess girl of the Huave Indigenous group, represented by the female alligator.

The Huave live along coastal Oaxaca state, not far from this inland town.

The wedding allows the sides to “link with what is the emblem of Mother Earth, asking the all-powerful for rain, the germination of the seed, all those things that are peace and harmony for the Chontal man,” explains Jaime Zarate, chronicler of San Pedro Huamelula.

Before the wedding ceremony, the reptile is taken house to house so that inhabitants can take her in their arms and dance. The alligator wears a green skirt, a colorful hand-embroidered tunic and a headdress of ribbons and sequins.

The creature’s snout is bound shut to avoid any pre-marital mishaps.

Later, she is put in a white bride’s costume and taken to town hall for the blessed event.

As part of the ritual, Joel Vasquez, a local fisherman, tosses his net and intones the town’s hopes that the marriage may bring “good fishing, so that there is prosperity, equilibrium and ways to live in peace.”

After the wedding, the mayor dances with his bride to the sounds of traditional music.

“We are happy because we celebrate the union of two cultures. People are content,” Sosa told.

I also don't believe ur story because it looks out of honesty.

I have seen boys from other states who came to work here and between 1 month, u will not believe the change and transformation in them. Their customers will mostly be big polo boys na and it will only take 1 month for them to wish to follow the trend. You will notice how their dressing will change and they will start to smoke laud and all nameless smokes and before u know it, u will see the salon owner paste "barber wanted" because he will smell the beans.

You maybe simply trying to protect ur fellow lazy youths here because ur cover up story here no add up at all.

When I went to search for carpenters to work for me, I was only lucky to find older men and even them u will be surprised by them as 3ven them will want do everything possible to swindle u immediately.

Anyways, wetin concern me

I honestly don’t understand by what you mean labor shortage. I’m also a business guy. I have saloon and few other businesses. I have people working for me. I’ve never been short of laborers, even when it comes to farming job cuz I’m also into agriculture..

My saloon - I don’t use a manager. My barber now has 4 apprentices learning barbing and the thing is even now super easy to run. He’s like the manager & he’s doing well. The way I pay him is also interesting to him! He’s like the manager & all..

Can’t your barber be the manager? Infact, when it comes to barbing saloon, you can’t involve somebody that can’t barb or else it’s just a waste of funds & resources..

Ur insinuation validates my conclusion.

It definitely depends on state and location but only an ignoramus will argue that Nigeria is not suffering from labor shortage.

U can read other people's sumbmition here and it in line with my observation. Over 80% of People between 18 and 30 today in Nigeria prefer to be idle, lazy and insensitive!

Is your saloon that big or why do you need a manager?

Can’t you be the manager?

Must I be the manager, Can't I work do other works? Anyways, like somebody said here, I can consider closing the salon., by the way I added gas refilling in the same shop.

But if Nigeria continues like this for labor shortage at this early time then the future will be wonderful grin
