I have already helped the op by giving him price idea of nigerian used sienna, the sienna seems to be the most logical long inter state car because of its cargo space compared to those ones i mentioned. You have already started a good work by offering to help the op watch out, i am not calling you a jibiti person, i am only giving you price range of what i see out there

I am confident that the op will get a very good sienna for his budget. op is busy searching, i only want to help, provided i find a very good one that he can use to start his business.
He's just starting out, so he needs a reliable brand that he can start with. He has done his own research as well and he has settled for sienna. If the op wants to buy a sienna he should budget nothing less than 800k for a minimal fixable issue sienna, heck he should buy one of 800k and use 200k to put it back in optimum shape.

I assure you, you don't want to buy a guzzling breakdown all the time sienna.

Better still let him go and buy VW Sharan, Mitsubishi space gear without GDI technology or Honda shuttle/Isuzu oasis

If you read very well, you will notice that the op budgeted maximum of 800k. Nonetheless, he could still get a good bargain even slightly lesser without all the problem you highlighted above.

However, only mitsubishi and vw sharan can suffice in the options you mentioned above. but, if the op wants to use it for interstate transport, i will advice him to stick to sienna.
He can opt for mitshubishi or sharan for interstate like lagos-ibadan-abeokuta. But for interstate like Lagos-Abuja and across Niegria, only sienna i can guarantee will do the job very well. cheers

You seem like someone to me who pay attention to details, very observant, and like his car clean and in top form. I will advice you buy that car, if you wouldn't mind the extra difference in the price of diesel to fuel. However, the fact is that, the extra cost you will gain in other form.
For instance, the full tank of PMS in that avensis can't take you to and from Lagos-Onitsha, while a full tank of diesel will do. It is fuel effiecient and reliable.
Since, you have professed your likeness for the car, i will advice, you buy it and use it the way it it, you stand to gain and learn a lot from it than removing parts and passing wires and changing of so many parts.
There are quite good diesel mechanics around you, look for a good one, you can always resolve any issue. Also, do a users review online and look for common or possible issues and there solutions. You can also help your mechanic with such information rather than doing guess work.
The choice is yours, if you like the car, buy it and learn how to take care of it, you stand to gain alot as it is a strong and reliable car.

Don't bother yourself with the project of converting, you are likely to get your fingers burnt. if you want the car, buy it and use it in its pure form, you will enjoy it and its going to serve you very well. Even if you want to change engine, use it and let it serve you until it says am tired or you are tired, then you can change to full petrol engine. But i doubt you will want to do that after seeing its efficiency and reliability. Goodluck

I will advice you stick to 2000-2002 model for that budget. You can't get 2005 for that budget except if you want to get a probematic car. I've seen some clean 2000 model around 900-950k. We can strike a good bargain for your budget.

Please for God sake, leave this car in its pure form if you can't use it the way it is. look for the petrol variant instead. Leave it for somebody who knows the value to find it.
what you don't know is that, this car with that engine will take you anywhere across Nigeria, very economical if you really know how to take care of it. As they say one man's meat is another's poison.

If you can afford the sienna, go for it. That is the only reliable vehicle you can use for your transportation business. Ask yourself how many windstar or nissan have you seen running interstate.
