omicpet:What you don't understand is technology market is not a consumable or perishable goods market. We deal in things that last for 2-5 years so definitely at one time or the other the demand for this products is expected to have a sharp decline and with decrease in demand comes a decrease in price more especially now that there's excess supply of these phones. Tech market moves in relation to the economy. There's now a general decline in the prices of all these high end phones because of their demands and change in consumers spending habits. Secondly, this business thrives on low balling, the whole model is as a result of low balling. If the oyinbos said they're no longer selling to Nigerians because of low balling, they won't close OfferUp but rather look for other markets for their devices. We see ridiculous TLC deals posted everyday, if I see some deals for mikky's WhatsApp I go say na jazz. Even in CV or any other markek, people low ball. I'm very sure on one or more occasion, you or someone have priced an item of over 10k for 1k, it's the market, this thing happen all the time but doesn't mean market should be shut down. Another thing to note is that the whole model of this business is based on an interconnected number of large middlemen. You hardly find an end user here from what I can deduce. Everyone buys and sells for profit. You buy from seller and pay the picker for his service, your deal buyer also buys and add your profit, he also looks for another to sell to and so and so until it reaches the ultimate buyer. Nobody wants to enter a business where he gets nothing from, what's the point. Someone made mention of a price ceiling and minimum price of 10-20k from CV, how is that going to work or how would it be sustainable? Before the phones get to the ultimate end user, the prices would be more than that of CV. And the reason for people buying at this low prices is this is a highly risky business, you don't expect someone to take a greater risk only to sell at the same profit margin with CV people. PHONES are not the problems, but the availability of buyers, they are thousands of phones in the market, how else do resellers who buy from deal hunters convince the buyer that they should buy their products? It's either PRODUCT DIFFERENTIATION of COST LEADERSHIP, and there is nothing different about the products we're offering compared to that of CV so the best way to withstand competition from CV or other markets is to offer a lower price. You want to sell at the price of CV, good and fine but also be prepared to wait as long as they do before selling a single device. If your business is not moving, change your strategy. Re-strategizing is as important in business as buying and selling. You don't blame your customers for you not selling your goods. Other people here sell daily and hardly enter any trouble with buyers, you don't hearethem complaining. It once took me 6 months to sell a galaxy S9, I had to make a loss. Tere's an iPhone 8 I'm yet to sell since last year, it's just business. Sometimes is favourable, other times it's not. Even pickers enter their troubles but they don't stop picking. |
Please any update on June 15th Shipment? |
timijoseph01:Lol. No be fight bro. This thing is simple. It’s either you buy from the hunter or not. Know who you’re buying from. Hundreds of deals go on smoothly here, it’s only the few bad ones we hear of. |
timijoseph01:The major reasons people don’t search themselves is either your they can’t access the site or they lack strong negotiation skills (as is my own case). Accessing this site is very easy, there are simple instructions to follow or avoid to be in the game. I’ve been using one account since I started this and not even for once was I flagged. There are people who sell accounts here. Moreover, that is why there are deal hunters, if you can’t do it, they’ll do it for you. And what exactly is your point ![]() Doing this business is not by force. We’re all here for the profit and before anyone should engage he/she should understand the risks involved. Hundreds of people pass this trend daily without conducting business with anyone because it’s beyond their risk threshold. If you must do this you have two options, buy the link or buy the phone from the hunter. Or better yet, search for a deal yourself, it’s not that hard. |
I think selling of links is a very simple issue. DEAL HUNTER ACTING AS AN AGENT 1. At the point of selling the link, risk and responsibilities are transferred to buyer. Deal hunter only receives commission. After getting the link, buyer should be able to carry out his checks with due diligence. Ask, ask and ask the seller. Confirm the accuracy of details gotten from deal hunter from the seller before forwarding link to picker. 2. Deal hunter receives commission if and only if item has been picked. 3. Buyer bears the responsibility of failed pickup - is as simple as that since you’re not paying the deal hunter anything. If commission has been paid to deal hunter prior to pickup, the deal hunter should make a refund. 4. If for whatever reason, item didn’t come as described and defects are of minor issues that can be easily fixed and which cannot be easily identified by the picker at the point of pickup e.g non physical defects that’s very hard for deal hunter to know - deal hunter should return the commission paid to him. 5. Where a deal hunter purposely hides details to client, deal hunter should FULLY REFUND the buyer or bears the full cost of repairs. 6. In essence, the liability of a deal hunter should be restricted to the commission received if the link was sold to the buyer and buyer contacts seller directly in a fair and open transaction. DEAL HUNTER AS SELLER 7. However, I think it’s an entirely different scenario, when you pay the deal hunter the full cost of the item and he pays picker on your behalf, the nature of the transaction is different and so the rules should also be different. 8. In the event of no. 7 above which is common, deal hunter is responsible to a large extent as to the cost of repairs, and a fixed percentage should be agreed upon. Everyone should share the risk - deal hunter (in this case, he’s the seller) and buyer. This is a business and you can’t be totally absolved of risk. With high yield/profit comes high risk. 9. Where a deal hunter/seller purposely hides details to client of any defect minor or major, deal hunter should FULLY REFUND the buyer or bears the full cost of repairs. 10. In regards the percentage on 7 above, I suggest a percentage of 50-50 for defects not easily identifiable/not physical in nature, or as result of deceptive detailed given to the deal hunter when searching the deal and for which it is impossible or hard for deal hunter to know. Deal Hunters should be responsible enough to do a simple paid IMEI check - Blacklist, FMI, Network Status, MDI, etc. It’s the least you can do. Pickers Should refund the full cost of picking an iCloud locked device. My10Cents ![]() |
