I'm not. Just got the link to the public beta rom for RN5, downloaded and took a leap of faith & flashed via Update despite locked BL (did successfully previously on my RN4)

Warning:
1) All user data will be formatted.
2) Phone booted locked and I've to figure out how to use Xiaomi's Sougou Chinese keyboard (My RN5 is Chinese version & I'm loving it) to enter my password. (i.e. Know your password very well).
3) Only few latest devices on Android 8 has public beta rom as of now.
4) There's possibility of bricking your device if anything goes wrong. So Pls be careful with your choices.

Been on Miui 10 for days now & I must admit, it's the best Miui user experience ever since my Redmi Note 3 & even Mihome experiences on prior devices.

Please, can someone tell me the reasons why pple are always encouraged to switch a chinese rom to global roms for Xiaomi devices?. My personal experiences with both roms on my devises have always left me with impressions that staying on chinese rom is more advantageous in many respect. You get faster updates & more of everything else. The only downside I see is the few places where d chinese language will refuse to yield ground for the preferred.

She's very correct. All Xiaomi devices gets updated regularly. And Infact, you can as well move on to dev rom & update weekly. I've got @least 3 updates since just over a month I started using it.

As for USB, you're correct. Though, the phone is Q.C 2.0 enabled (i.e it fast charge). But Camera is one of the best @least amongst almost all Xiaomi's midrange devices so far

Whew! Randomly read several pages of this thread and I just gotta say thanks to all the contributors. I was planning to get an Infinix Zero 5 but I think I'll just be switching lanes to Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 (6GB/64).

No I've not. But, all I can say is for the price, you'd find it very hard getting a better mid-range phone with value to performance ratio. And against many of the flagships out there, it'd be more like Toyota Camry V6 Vs Lexus R350 comparison. Same engine capacity & capabilty but different packagings @diff. price-points for different customers demographics.

If you want flagship, go for Mix-2S & if U don't give a damn go for RN5 (6GB/64GB prime version like me).

After over 3-Wks with The Redmi Note 5, the only thing I can tell you is to give @Noobody (He's my trusted & confirmed expert partner here) or any other expert you're comfortable with here, an urgent call & cash to get you yours ASAP.

RN5 is definitely worth upgrading to over RN4 & capable enough to fulfill all your daily normal needs from a mobile phone. D margin btw RN5 and those flagships isn't wide enough to justify the extra cost you'd be reqd to pay for it.

Just add the Zero and resend, guess its the new bug in town for owners of Redmi note 5A/5A prime especially, though a user around me is not facing this currently. Which network are you using?

Used to have same issues on my RN4. There're 2 workaround it.

1) Simply restore your phone contacts by adding international dialing code +234 before your contacts.

2) Go to your contact each time you want to send sms, click on the sms dialog in front of the contact no & proceed to type your sms & send.

Most of the paddies are in the north since we southerners are more interested in importation and smuggling rather than self sufficiency & economic diversification. Check out Kebbi, Niger, Taraba, even Anambra, Ogun, Lagos etc. Real farmers don't waste times answering questions such as this on social medias. They're too busy for that.

After drying with fire wood then you can now move to the oven for perfection.... With that your mind will be at rest ... Don't allow any buyers to dictate how you sell your fish for you.
