Never knew the tricycle is almost filled up and I'm the only passenger they are waiting for... And before they could say John Cena I jumped inside and off we go.... Sitting next to me is one fat or do i call her thick (as said by some nairalanders) woman carrying her twins. I couldnt sit properly coupled with the bad road and i had to lean forward holding the front sit where Bimpe was seated! "It's like you are really familiar with this area", i inquired. Yeah yeah, cant wait to get there, she squeaked... I wonder what's getting this girl excited o! Then I got a notification on my phone and its about my battery(i believe you all knw na)..and before i could blink, my phone was dead... "Do you have a #100 change there with you", Bimpe inquired. Yeah, I should. I gave it to her, she paid the driver and the driver stopped! ...Here we are, at the joint and boldly inscripted at the gate of the joint was 5Star... I checked my wrist watch and it was almost 6:30 and Before I could say Jack Sparrow, Bimpe whisked me inside the joint! On getting inside we sited an empty table located at the far end, we looked at each others face and head to procure the available space and took our sit. On sitting down one of the attendants came up to us beaming with smiles and she said; Welcome to the FiveStar. what would you like me to get you? ...I noticed the attendants were wearing the same uniform and there is a tag on which each of their name was inscribed... Taking a look at the car park, it seems the numbers of cars parked were more than the people sitted inside... |

Continues ...we went horse riding, did some swimming in the flagged/safe area and took some amazimg and crazy shots... after which we got our things, swiftly changed and left the beach around 4:30pm... On our way back home, Bimpe suggested we should check out a joint her mum once told her of and she's been there a couple of times with her. i would have rejected the offer but i didnt simply because "it is my day." It's not just my day but my 21st birthday for that matter and I feel like having this weird adventure with my friend.... Besides its really been a while i had fun like this alone with Bimpe or maybe it's just instinctive for girls generally at my age to try something new which i did not have any regret though at the end of the day. ...While this thought was still going through my mind Bimpe brought me "back to life" with a tap ....We alighted from the bus at a bus stop and taking a quick look at the sign post i knew we are @ Pipeline bus stop.... "This area is not far from our hood", I said. Yeah, I know and I know you are Daddy's pet that's why I suggested somewhere closer, she replied. ...We crossed to the other side of the road where we were to board a tricycle. Bimpe was saying something to one of the drivers coupled with hand gesture but I was not really paying much attention because i was busy pressing my phone going through messages on social netwrk and bbm... I heard Bimpe calling on me and the driver starting his engine in the process. The tricyle is good to go, Bimpe said. |

Sorry,i had a delay before I could get the key to the tally which our locker was. And here is your ice cream. Thanks dearie, you came right on point!, I said smiling... The beach has really taken a different shape since a new company has taken over the beach premises. There's been a whole hell lot of improvement in the safety of life and properties in the beach. One can see professional divers and their speed boat around available just in case of any accident whatsoever.... Hey honey, am biola...he said facing Bimpe. Hi, Biola am Bimpe...and both of them exchanged pleasantries. Bimpe can we go horse riding, I said Why not, she replied. See you guys around, he said and left. I was expecting him to ask for my contact but he didn't. .. I can tell that guy is really into you from the look in his eyes, Bimpe inquired laughing. That guy is a toady! So I stood up dusting my palms and my body. Hey, I replied. "I was just passing by and what interest me most is why a beautiful girl like you is sitting down here alone all by yourself....and to ask if you are not scared, he said. "Today is my mum's birthday so she asked me to drive her down here since dad is not available...though I had some certain things I have to attend to but you know how you women can be. I will consider my academics first before any relationship comes in and if you think you are not really comfortable with the way things are going, just gimme a break! And that was it, i never knew when I said it but i did that nite and I got more than 'I bargained for! I asked for a break maybe because i was too confident that he is so much entangled and cant do without me but all I could comprehend was that I lost him that nite and I cried my eyes out and will never forget that day. Bimpe too know quite well about the escapade. But the truth is simple; "In life, there are some certain things we can't change no matter how hard we try, we can only try but we can't just get it right!" I think that was what happened between Deji and I... I even heard he just got married last month... Still lost in my thought I got a tap on my back and it was Bimpe. The memory of Deji I just had even made me forget it is my birthday... See let me go get us some ice cream, Bimpe said... Few minutes after she left I heard a footstep approaching me from behind. It was quite a sunny afternoon but the breeze, tide and the current at the beach did compliment it. Hey missy, I heard a deep masculine voice. With my left hand on my eyebrows protecting my eyes from ray of the sun, i took a quick swipe at the person standing before me. He was wearing a pair of sandals with a brown short and a sky blue top. He must be in his early or mid twenties, 25 i guess, quite tall and athletic 6ft 2in i think. |

And the truth be said, I think she is a little bit right. I have not been in a relationship for quite a while now and Soji has been the only persistent guy. Though I had a guy when I was in my first year but things just didn't work out as I expected because I did not really have much time for Deji. Deji is a very nice guy, gentleman to the core! We had some certain things in common like he is a last born with three siblings like I was but only the male child. He was in his penultimate year when we met and apart from the fact that he is brilliant and cool headed, he is everything a girl dream for and needs in a man. His height, smile, charm, everything about him is just intimidating. But with all his commitment and everything towards the relationship.... i squander it all!.... I never gave him much attention that he needed by always giving him excuse like; "I am busy", "in tutorial"....I just took him for granted! But the shocker came a fateful nite when he was in his finals and invited me over for a dinner which we had a long chat and I vowed never to wear the gown I wore that nite again. We talked about so many things but I never saw it coming and thought maybe it was a joke but it did happened! All i could remember were those words he said to me and my reply. He said; "The main reason I invited over tonight is that i've come to realize that you no longer value this relationship and all I want to know is your stand" I dont know how it really happened but I told him |

Though he did asked me to help talk to you when he asked if you are in a relationship and he think that's the reason why you not giving him a chance which i told him "no". Our trip to the beach was quite quiet and the road was free with no traffick with my earpiece plunged in my ear. "listening to music from my phone." "#np olamide ft wizkid omo to shan"... shaking my head in affirmation to the song. Then i got a tap from behind and it was Bimpe. She was sitting directly at my back inside the BRT bus. "Cherish, Bimpe whispered." Oh, Cherish! that naughty girl!.....i squeaked She's one of my few friends and my reading partner in my first year in school before she moved to stay off campus... Hello dear, i said. hey there you are, birthday girl. I have been trying to call you since but aint going through, hope you got my message honey, she said. Yea, i did, you 'such a darling! "And I love the timing too, I said." Since i met her, she's always been the first person to wish me a happy birthday... 'got her text at exactly 12:00am.... "No worries, Bimpe told me you guys are going to catch some fun at the beach, she said. "Yeah, you wanna join us." "I wish I had wings." You guys go 'have all the fun, 'miss you guys so much, she said. Same here Chi! And my cake, I dont want to hear stories... you know we'll be resuming soon. Then she hung up. She never seize to amaze me!, I said beaming with smiles. It's my birthday and at exactly 2pm, we are at the beach. Almost everybody at the beach has a touch of red, both the young and the old. This is not my first time of here but it's the first time am coming down with none of my family members! |

Bimpe and I were just planning to go out and have fun at the beach when I got the deposit alert. You just made my day ma! That's a great idea... I was about calling you too when your call came in. I dropped the call and ran into the bathroom singing aloud and humming, Oh happy day!... Everything about her is just perfect, her smile, eyes, dimple, hair just name it. "She is a perfect example of what a beautiful woman should be!" You look like it's your birthday and I love the gown, I said. Oh!...this, mum just got it for me. You not looking bad either....you look take away! ah ah....Bimpe, please don't start again, I said. Now looking inside the mirror, am not looking bad either and the truth is I might not be flashy, athletic and hot like Bimpe is but am simple and perfect. So i unlocked my phone and it's a message from Titi one of my Nursing coursemates in school but before reading the text message finish another message entered. Yessss, I screamed. Hey missy, what's your headache because it's your birthday today, we should get heart attack with all your screaming and shouting abi, Bayo said. Ouch I missed the call.It's Tope, my small daddy. He is a big man now and works with "SHELL". He just traveled to the U.K on a 3month programme being facilitated by his organization and I call him my small daddy because he always got an answer to all my questions... my phone was ringing again. Hey bro, how are you. "Se otutu ibeyen ko p'oju" asking him in Yoruba if the weather out there aint too cold. Yeah, he responded affirmatively. We are adjusting my dear. I was about going out then I remember it's another 14th February, your birthday! Aww, that is so nice of you but mum hasn't got me anything yet, i said. "You know mummy now, she is full of surprises". Just hang on a little bit, i know she's got something special for you, he said. I haven't even recieved her call yet, not to talk of any special package and it's almost 12 noon, i grumbled. You never can tell, maybe she is busy with her kids in school, dont be bothered she will, he said. Alright, i replied. Hope you've seen your new apple laptop. Yeah, i screamed. I have and how did you know about it, i queried. Oh!, that? "Dad called last week to help order a customized pink apple product from their factory out here and i asked him what he wants to use it for. So, he told me it's for you since he knew your favourite colour is pink. I hope you like it, he inquired. Like is an understatement. I was just about running it when your call came in... Ouch, i need to start going dear, i've got a schedule now to catch up with. |
