First of all, as the one with the OP for this thread, I think i'm impressed with the turn out of female programmers. Nice to know you all are out there churning out codes that improve and change lives. Secondly, I will in the same vein condemn the chauvinistic comments that littered most of this thread(sorry about that ladies). The main aim was to get us to know each other especially the females among us and not to expose them for some of you to take swipes at. Instead, we should appreciate and respect each other(both male and female) for our abilities and knowlegde and not disrespect anyone cause of gender(that's what little boys do to look tough in front of their friends). Again nice to meet all you female geeks, and I hope to see more technical posts and threads from all around here(cause that's the reason the forum was created anyway). Cheers |
@Nedux, In one breath, you are asking for a mentor, and in another offering the job to anyone who can do it! If you really want to learn (and you claim to know vb) why don't you try it out yourself then when ever you have difficulties, you come and post your questions in here and we'll be more than glad to help (as many as can). You can't learn by asking others to do what you ought to be doing on your own. Cheers |
@Widesmile, Yay! Finally a female comes around to defend her kind! Nice to meet you, missy. So you churn out software using JAVA and PHP, huh? Impressive. How long have you been at it? You work at a firm or you are on your own? BTW, My poison are C#, PHP and Javascript. About your website thing, I totally apologize for whatever you might have perceived as unpleasant responses. Sometimes people lack the appropriate manner of approach. Once again, it was really nice to meet you. So one female and counting, |
@Fayimora, Really? Why haven't you introduced them to this forum? Are they good programmers or computer scientist(if there's anything like that)? Which? I personally have met just, let me count them, none! |
Hi everyone. Looking around the world, you find very few females wandering into a career in computer science( and computer programming). Bringing it home, I've looked in this (programming) forum and don't seem to find any females responding to threads and posts. This makes me ask: 1. Do we have female programmers here at all? 2. Where you live or work you, do know any hacker/geek chics around (that are atleast averagely good)? Just something I thought about. Cheers |
