Saved For A Reason . Sunday, May 15th . Pastor Chris ...but according to his own purpose...now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel (2 Timothy 1:9-10). The real message of Christianity isn't about a saviour. Of course, Jesus Christ is the Saviour of the world, but He didn't just come to save us. If that were all He came to do, it wouldn't have been adequate for righteousness. In Christianity, there's much more than being saved. Deuteronomy 6:23 gives us the key to God's purpose: "And he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he sware unto our fathers." Notice the verse doesn't say, "He brought us out and brought us in." He brought us out (saved us) for a reason: "that He might bring us in." This expression is about one word: Purpose. But that's not all. He "brought us in" to give us the land of our inheritance and make us great, as He said to Abraham. God had said to Abraham, "I will make you great and I will make your seed after you great." But his descendants became slaves in Egypt, and that wasn't greatness. When it was time for His purpose for their lives to be realized, so that they'd become the great ones that He wanted them to be, He set them free, brought them into a place of liberty, and gave them the land. When Jesus came, He brought us out of sin that we might inherit His righteousness. He brought us out of pain and penury that we might have life in abundance, a life of prosperity and abundant wealth. He didn't just come to save us; He came to give us "the land," that we might live in prosperity, health and soundness every day in this earth, and live to the praise of His glory. That way, we can help others learn about Him, so they can have a great life too. PRAYER Dear Father, I thank you for my inheritance in Christ. I'm a joint-heir with Christ; therefore, I know no lack. I'm abundantly supplied because I'm the seed of Abraham. I'm an able representative of our heavenly kingdom here on earth, and I'm winning others to the Lord in Jesus' Name. Amen. Enjoy What He's Given You . Monday, May 9th . Pastor Chris According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue (2 Peter 1:3). Galatians 4:1 says, "Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all." The heir is one who has an inheritance. However, though he owns everything, as long as he's a child, he can't enjoy his inheritance; rather, he's placed under tutors and instructors, to bring him up to maturity. This is what God does for us through the ministry of His Word. We're taught and tutored on our inheritance in Christ. Even though all things are yours (1 Corinthians 3:21), you'll not be able to enjoy your inheritance, if you're not trained in the Word. It's the reason the Lord gave the ministry gifts to the Church: "And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints..." (Ephesians 4:11-12). We read in our opening verse that His divine power has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness. What does that mean? It means you have everything that has to do with life; they're yours now to enjoy! If you're not enjoying your inheritance today as you should, it'll be for one simple reason; something the Lord said in Hosea 4:6: "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge...." It's ignorance that makes some of God's children walk through life, suffering and afflicted with pain. So, refuse to be ignorant. The quality of your life is the direct result of the measure of knowledge of God's Word in you. You can't have a life greater than your understanding, and application of spiritual truths. Keep living in, and growing by the Word, and you'll live to your highest potentials in life. Keep the Word in your heart and in your mouth always, for with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation. That means you appropriate your inheritance in Christ Jesus, with your faith-filled confessions. PRAYER Blessed Father, I thank you for giving me all things that pertain unto life and godliness, freely to enjoy. You've made known to me the path of life; you've filled me with joy in your presence, and eternal pleasures at your right hand. You're my light, and the glory of my life. In you I have health, prosperity, and abundance, in Jesus' Name. Amen. Further Study: || Ecclesiastes 5:18-19 Behold that which I have seen: it is good and comely for one to eat and to drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labour that he taketh under the sun all the days of his life, which God giveth him: for it is his portion. 19 Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of God. || || 1 Timothy 6:17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; || Daily Scripture Reading 1-Year Bible Reading Plan: John 4:27-54, 1 Kings 2-3 2-Year Bible Reading Plan: 1 Corinthians 6:12-20, Proverbs 5 |

Believe The Truth Always . Tuesday, February 2nd . Pastor Chris Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth (John 17:17). One of the easiest ways a Christian can yield to demonic influences is by believing and acting upon lies. For instance, you received the Holy Spirit by receiving the truth of the Gospel of Christ. You received Christ when you believed God's Word; He didn't come into you because you ate or swallowed anything; it happened through words. You believed and accepted the words of the Gospel, and Christ took up His abode in your heart. Similarly, demons take up their abode in people when such people accept and believe lies. When Satan entices people with lies, he comes through those lies into their lives and continues influencing them. That's the reason when someone believes a lie, he starts behaving abnormally; be it at home, in church, among his friends or at work. And it all depends on the lie he may have believed and the particular spirit that's peddling that lie. When that spirit gets uncomfortable in such a person, he brings in other demons, and then that person's condition worsens. The worst part is, someone who's been so deceived, even when presented with evidence of truth, still doesn't believe or accept the truth. That's an evidence of its demonic nature. Then others would wonder at his behaviour, and the reason he's become so twisted. It's because an evil spirit has taken over his mind. But as you learn, and live by the Word, you're able to take your stand against satanic influences and manipulations. You're able to judge everything with the truth of God's Word. Don't accept lies. Believe only in the truth. But how can you identify truth? Truth blesses and uplifts. Truth makes you grow, fills you with love, and makes you walk and talk like Christ! Truth promotes you and promotes those who are with you; it doesn't bring confusion, and it carries no hate or bitterness with it. Truth is light. Glory to God! PRAYER Dear Father, I thank you for the revelation of your Word to my spirit today. I'm blessed, uplifted and promoted by your Word, which is the truth that I live by, today and always, in Jesus' Name. Amen. Further Study: || John 8:31-32 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. || || John 8:44-46 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. 45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not. 46 Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me? || Daily Scripture Reading 1-Year Bible Reading Plan: Matthew 23, Exodus 24-25 2-Year Bible Reading Plan: Acts 14:19-28, Job 36-37 |

He's Your Strength And Shield! Wednesday, January 27th . Pastor Chris ...the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27:1). In the Psalm above, David wasn't asking the Lord for strength. It lacks spiritual wisdom to keep praying and asking the Lord to give you strength when, already, He's the strength of your life. If the Lord is the strength of your life, you don't need to ask Him for strength, because if you have Him, you have strength; therefore, no room for weakness in your life. The Apostle Paul, with this understanding, made an extraordinary claim in 2 Corinthians 12:10. He said, "...for when I am weak, then am I strong." He knew His strength was the Holy Spirit that dwelt in him. No wonder He said, "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13 NKJV). The Holy Spirit is the source of true strength, and He lives in you. Therefore, never confess weakness. Declare always that you're strengthened and marvellously helped of the Lord. Romans 8:26 says, "...the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities..."; in other words, His strength is available to you, and for you, when you think you're at your weakest. Furthermore, He's your defence and shield. When men speak unfavourable words to you, about you, or against you, be unperturbed, because their words are empty. That's something you have to realize, and be grateful to the Lord for, because not only is He your strength, He's also your protection. The Bible says, "Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not?" (Lamentation 3:37). You should have no fear at all. Fear nothing, and fear no one. When men threaten you, you shouldn't even consider their threats, because Isaiah 54:17 says, "No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord." What an assurance! Live with this consciousness, and keep winning every day. CONFESSION The Lord is the strength of my life; therefore, there's no room for weakness in me. I'm sufficient in Christ's sufficiency, and nothing is impossible to me. The Lord has set me on high; Glory and honour are in his presence; strength and gladness are in His dwelling! Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil; for He's my shield and eternal protection. Halleluiah! Further Study: || Psalm 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. || || Psalm 27:1-3 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? 2 When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. 3 Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident. || || 2 Corinthians 3:5-6 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; 6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. || Daily Scripture Reading 1-Year Bible Reading Plan: Matthew 19:1-15, Exodus 13-14 2-Year Bible Reading Plan: Acts 13:1-12, Job 24-25 |
You Carry His Presence . Sunday, January 24th . Pastor Chris Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you (1 Corinthians 3:16). As Christians, it's so important that we're conscious of who we are and what we have. You know, sometimes, some people come to church and they say, "Lord, we've come into your presence today." And when they leave, they feel they've left the presence of God. Some even pray for the presence of God to come down. But the truth is, as a child of God, you don't "come" into God's presence. You come in, and with, His presence! You carry that presence! When you go to church, you go with His presence in you. You're the temple of the living God, who dwells in you by the Holy Spirit. When you were born again, Christ took up His abode in the quarters of your heart. He's in you now, and you're in Him. He didn't come into you to leave again after some time; no! He's with you, and in you, forever! Sadly, a lot of folks don't know this. But thanks be unto God! We know what we carry. This isn't an imagination! It's not a fable. This is reality. The Spirit of God dwells in you, and He's the conveyor of the presence and blessings of God, and all that's been given to us in Christ Jesus. Now, the power of the Word of God works through knowledge and proclamation. If you don't know it, it'll not work. Even though it's been in the Bible, even though you've read it, if you don't have a consciousness of it, it'll not work. You must have the consciousness that you're a God-carrying vessel. You carry His presence in you everywhere. When you arrive, God arrives! Glory to His Name forever! CONFESSION Christ in me is the hope of glory, prosperity and strength! I'm well! I'm sound, because He's graced my life with His glory, with His presence, and with Himself! Wherever I am, God is, because I'm the carrier of His divine presence. Halleluiah! Further Study: || 2 Corinthians 6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. || || Hebrews 3:6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end. || || John 14:15-17 If ye love me, keep my commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. || Daily Scripture Reading 1-Year Bible Reading Plan: Matthew 16:13-17:1-13, Exodus 6-7 2-Year Bible Reading Plan: Acts 12:1-10, Job 18-19 |
Faith In The Word . Saturday, January 23rd . Pastor Chris For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek (Romans 1:16). The Apostle Paul was talking about the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the opening text, and went further in the next verse to let us know that through the Gospel, the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith: "For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith" (Romans 1:17). What does that mean? It means living beyond the outward man, because faith is the response of the human spirit to the Word of God. To live by faith, therefore, means to live from your spirit in response to God. That means living in, and on the Word of the Master. Jesus said man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes out of the mouth of God (Matthew 4:4). The Word of God is your life. It's what you need for a balanced spiritual life. The Bible says, "As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby" (1 Peter 2:2). Even the Psalmist in the Old Testament understood the importance of living by the Word and therefore declared, "O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day" (Psalm 119:97). Let the Word of God dwell in you richly. The Word in you is what you need to move to the next level in your Christian life; be more rooted and grounded in the Word. Feed your spirit with the Word continually. The potency and efficacy of God's Word is unquestionable. His Word is absolute reality, and all you need to experience victory and promotion in life is to live by the Word! PRAYER Dear Father, I thank you for the life of faith you've called me into. I function in the spiritual realities of your divine Kingdom. I walk in divine health, absolute prosperity, unending success, abundant joy and indescribable peace today and always, in Jesus' Name. Amen. Further Study: || 2 Corinthians 5:7 AMP For we walk by faith [we regulate our lives and conduct ourselves by our conviction or belief respecting man’s relationship to God and divine things, with trust and holy fervor; thus we walk] not by sight or appearance. || || Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. || Daily Scripture Reading 1-Year Bible Reading Plan: Matthew 15:29-16:1-12, Exodus 3-5 2-Year Bible Reading Plan: Acts 11:15-30, Job 17 |

In Union With The Father! Thursday, December 3rd . Pastor Chris God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth (John 4:24). God is a spirit; therefore, we can only worship Him and relate to Him from, and with, our spirits. This means not every living thing can worship Him. Animals don’t have spirits; so, they can’t worship Him in Spirit; only humans can. Someone might argue with this and say, “But the Scripture says, ‘Let everything that hath breath praise the LORD...”’ (Psalm 150:6). Yes, but there’s a difference between praise and worship. Praise requires no consciousness; but worship does. When you praise, you extol His majesty. You may thank and eulogize. However, in worship, much more than extolling Him, there’s a communion; there’s a relationship. It’s a drinking together—a special kind of recognition between the “blesser” and the blessed, the greater and the lesser. The greater one receives the lesser one to His place. This is only possible with humans. That’s why, for instance, we’re not permitted to worship angels. Though they’re great and powerful, God, in Christ Jesus, has raised us to the place of His Son, who’s higher than angels. We’re one with Christ, who’s greater than angels, and we’re therefore higher than angels. This is what the Bible teaches. As He (Jesus) is, so are we in this world (1 John 4:17). We’re joint-heirs with Him: “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs; heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ…” (Romans 8:16-17 NKJV). This doesn’t make us co-equal with Him, but it describes our inseparable union with Him: “But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit” (1 Corinthians 6:17). He’s the head, and we’re His body (Colossians 1:18). We’re in union with the Father. Glory to God! PRAYER Dear Father, thank you for the awesome privilege of being called into fellowship with you. My life is a manifestation of your wisdom, power, and glory. I live from the mountaintop, because I’ve been brought into oneness with Christ; seated together with Him in the realms of glory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
