You may have to date other guys and be wise while doing so.

MY ADVICE: Move on! And that means cutting him off! No contact, no calls, no chats. If you keep him around, the mere thought of him and how he said "I love you" the last time you spoke will dissuade you from giving other guys a chance to prove themselves more worthy, and that's how it'll continue until one day he'll suddenly vanish only to find out later that he has gotten married. You're still young and in your prime. Don't waste the time you have now on a confused guy. It'll be hard, first love and all, but you'll get over it. Time heals all wounds.

I fell in love with a guy when I was in my final year in Uni. I didn't date anyone until then because I didnt want to get distracted. The guy in question attended the same secondary school with me. He was 3 classes ahead. I never had anything to do with him back then. We never even talked. We started chatting when he invited me for our school reunion. I gave him my phone number and we started chatting on WhatsApp and calls. I became very fond of him. After some months, he asked me to be his girlfriend. I was unsure because of stories I've heard about online relationships. He was a banker and a part time student. I begged him to let me finish my final exams before accepting his proposal. We both stay in Lagos but I school in the east. I didn't want to engage in long distance relationship. He was persistent and I agreed to be his girlfriend on 29th may 2015, I remember Vividly because Buhari was sworn in that day ;DD. I truly loved him and I know he loved me too. After months of calling and texting, we finally met. He bluntly told me that he couldn't be in a relationship with me because I'm not who he expected to see. (I was ill and was recovering from a fatal accident that almost cost my life. Didn't lose any body part but my tummy was quite swollen). I guess that scared him but he didn't say anything neither did he ask what happened to me. I got so confused because he kissed me after breaking up withme. I didn't want to break down in his presence so I agreed to his terms. He wasn't ready to commit and wanted us to stay friends. He called and we kept in touch like nothing happened. We hung out sometimes and he still claimed to love me. After some months, he started dating someone else A friend of mine told me and showed me her posts on fb and how they showered themselves with love. After I recovered and I saw my ex, he was in awe and kept telling me how different I looked. He still claims to love me and we chat all the time. I even helped him out in his project thesis and some other stuff. I don't know if it's healthy being friends with him or not. I stand my ground whenever he brings up the subject of loving me and tell him that we can't be more than friends.
