It's better to spend more nd maintain the best quality.

In my own case, I don't care about the extra money I spent but am always satisfied nd feel fulfilled anytime I get the best quality materials myself. There was a time 2 iron benders condemned TMT TIGER ROD just because of the price that it's costly but I told them to never mind nd I bought the TMT TIGER nd they started complaining it's too hard to bend.

If the difference is not too much, I think it's better to buy quality than to give ur money to one crook artisan that would end up buying substandard materials for you while paying for quality materials

My brother, most house owners are lazy when it comes to material procurement. This is where they loose nearly half of whatever they spend on a project.
There are projects we are handling right now by ourselves here, as per material procurement. Trust me; we are saving tons of thousands of Naira without compromising quality at all.

It’s good the OP goes out firstly and do price and quality survey.
Those people we contract to buy most building materials for us are crooks and greedy.

For instance, many people don’t know that Tower aluminum that we tout as the best in Nigeria even has grades. Once they say this material is Tower, we just fall for it.

I still maintain it: let him go and check. Investing a few bucks of Naira and a day or two in price and quality verification won’t be a bad one.

After buying the material, he could try and persuade the fabricator to come and fabricate on site.

His workmanship should have been included in the price of each window. Don’t let him bamboos you into paying more.

Get quotations from 2 or 3 more fabricators and compare.

To reduce the cost, tell him give you a breakdown of the materials he would need to make each type of window and their prices, before he would add his labour.

Go to those window areas with whoever you choose to do it and measure them together. Don’t just take guessed feet or meters. Add up all needed number of feet of aluminum you would need and add a 5% allowance for wastage.

Then go out and find out more about those materials.
I assure you. You can buy nearly 100% of those materials by yourself.

The money is yours. Not his. Don’t fear anybody working for you and be throwing money at them, as they ask.

You would save a ton if you buy the materials you finally agreed by yourself.

I'm sure other people may have thought it was adedward like I thought, good thing adedward commented about it to show he was not the person in question.
Such half information could affect an innocent person's business for one, it would prevent the person in question to come out to state his side of the story also.
Once you shield a contractor with a questionable character, you are a major part of the problem. That is why some may be able to defraud several other unsuspecting clients that should have been alerted.
Putting out needed information would help make due diligence.
If clients also call out and state their experience and give review, it would serve as a feedback mechanism that would make any contractor think twice before taking any action.
From experience, I know it's not always automatically the contractor's fault, there are different types of people with different characters but we quickly think because he is the client, he is a saint that must have been wronged. This is whatsoever not related to @rawgold300 because his allegations are clear but to draw attention to having an open mind and giving fair hearing.
If these types of things aren't handled properly, it would affect other genuine business people as it is already alleged that most people here are fraudulent.
I have never defrauded any client here, in fact I have never met over 90% of my clients
There are several others whom I have worked with for years that I know are honest and straightforward.

Please don't generalize, there a lot of good people here that handle projects of over 100 million without any issue. Many of them are so busy they don't even have time to update their profile regularly. Always do your due diligence before commiting your hard earn money to just anybody

This happened because I wasn’t available to ascertained the gauge myself. I actually paid for 5mm my brother but he chooses to use 4mm so as to maximise enough gains ni oo…. This is someone I trusted with my money for months … My advice for people on here is to not trust anyone on here ..

Well said my oga. I’ve given job to a numbers of them even my window Aluminium was done by NL resident fabricator, it was brought attention recently that he used a lesser gauge glass for me …. Majority of them are criminals believe me . They can not be trusted at all .

You wouldn’t be believe that the shitty Segcymoor bastard paid a charge and bail lawyer to send me letter that am threatening him and his family . And I was only implying that his family will reap from everything he has sowed out there.

Believe me on this one , I be Mushin guy , they will all pay back no matter how long is going to take me . Thanks for ur advice anyway .
