But OP, Customer Care ain't a bad job o. Believe you me, all those insults people hurl on them, overtime becomes a routine. It becomes 'the job'. You eventually grow a thick skin to it and it becomes amusing. The work time is flexible, your pay comes in jejely, and pay ain't bad. I worked in telecom as a CCR for 2 years, left there last year, so I know.

Maybe you worked directly with the telecom company, if you were a contract worker you will understand better

No actually I don't. I have very good and close friends who are Osu.
I love them just like any other, I respect them, I eat and dine with them. We just understand that this has nothing to do with marriage. I actually don't like the caste system in Igbo land, but I respect my culture and understand the seriousness. Is it right?..NO.
My problem is with those who wave away this serious Igbo culture and belief system. The same people who advise people to engage in Osu marriage.

An interesting example was Chief Micheal Okpara the then Eastern Nigeria premier who passed a law against the Osu caste system, but when his kinsmen asked him to give his daughter's hand in marriage to an Osu man, he refused.

My other problem is that Osu families know themselves and know that this problem exists, but they are constantly playing this game. They will never voluntarily tell a free born until it's too late. By the way, osu's are the best educated in Igbo land and are usually very good looking. They first embraced Christianity and benefited from early education from the missionaries while the rest of the free born stuck to their shrines.
They know to marry themselves, but no they prefer to cause problems in families as in this case.
Why pregnant this girl, when you don't have approval of her family yet and when you are not married. Isn't that bad enough?

why impregnate this girl? As if u were there wen dey were making love...stop passing judgement.

Those who choose your spouse for you has the power to control your home n tell you how to treat your spouse and that has contributed to great number of broken marriages. You can get advice from the aforementioned pple bt dey shouldn't take your decision for you. Your marriage is your business! What good decision will you ever boost of in life if u can't determine the right spouse for yourself with the help of God. Even pastors, parents, siblings n friend do make bad decisions abt things that concern their personal lives not to talk of someone else. As for me, I don't need anybody's consent, ONLY God matters.
