SheCoop: Okay so this is what I do;
1. Morning before I leave for work: Pump (This depends on how many times he nursed overnight, most times I feel empty, so i go to work like that without pumping) 2. Before 8am: Pump ( I try to get to work early so I can do my thing before work starts) 3. 10:30am ish: Pump 4. 1:30pm ish: Pump 5. Closing time: Pump (I close at 4, so I pump before heading into traffic), pack milk inside cooling bag with ice pad,
I have a fridge to keep my milk and pump bottles at work.
My target is to get nothing less than 400mls of milk at work, sometimes I can get up to 600mls. (My baby takes about 500mls of milk)
I get home around 6pm, If my baby is full before I get home, I just pump, If not I nurse.
I continue nursing overnight, sometimes I pump at midnight if my baby does not feed well and my breasts are full.
soooo, yesterday's milk for today's feed, today's milk for tomorrow's feed and so on....
P.S. There's no science to this thing, you can modify it as it suits you. You have to be determined to see this through as you will probably get frustrated at some point.
You will need a good electric pump (preferably double and can run on batteries, you cant trust NEPA) Several feeding bottles, because you might not want the caregiver to start changing baby teats, so just prep the bottles yourself (90mls per feed is fine, 4 or 5 bottles should do) Storage bottles with ice pad and cooling bag
You might also need extra power supply as Breastmilk will last just 4-6 hours in room temp, 5 days in a fridge and 6 months if kept frozen, freezing is not advisable though. (if frozen milk thaws, you have to use within 24 hours)
Also please feed well and get as much rest as you can, as breastfeeding (either nursing or pumping) saps energy.
Let me know if you have other questions. Thank you sis |

[quote author=Pearl05 post=81016927]Please mums let's be careful with our babies diaper usage. With the wave of fakes in the market, when a baby pee 2 times it stays on their body this causes skin irritation .
Always apply generously Vaseline on their bum, in between the thigh and privates.
Change them as often as possible.
Air the bum once in a while on weather friendly days. Just wear them pant and continue changing it as they pee.
Pls,Can I apply Shea butter instead of Vaseline cos that's what I have for now. |

SheCoop: Hello. First, you have to get a pump that works for you (I use a double electric), plenty feeding bottles (it will be easier if they can feed baby straight without pouring from storage bottles) and a cooling pack with ice pad to carry the milk you express from work home.
My baby takes milk expressed the previous day, kept in the fridge all through and warmed when he needs to eat. Let me know if you need any pumping schedule to work with. Thank you so much Please I need the pumping schedule |
